Shibuya & Omotesando WOMEN’S RUN

The "Shibuya & Omotesando WOMEN’S RUN" is a 10km race exclusively for women, taking runners through the main streets of Shibuya and Omotesando, as well as the grounds of Meiji Jingu Shrine—areas that are not normally open to running events. Despite being in the heart of the city, the course is special for its greenery and natural surroundings. Its roots trace back to the "Harajuku Joshi Mini Marathon" held in Omotesando in 1977.

Since its first event in October 2023, the "Tokyo Night Market" has attracted a total of 600,000 visitors. Held at night in Yoyogi Park, this event lets you enjoy music and gourmet food, and since 2025, it has been held three times a year. It is quickly becoming one of Tokyo's signature nighttime cultural events.

Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia

"Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA)" is Asia's largest international short film festival, officially recognized by the Academy Awards. Every year, over 5,000 entries are submitted from more than 100 countries and regions, and about 250 carefully selected works are screened in various categories.

During the festival period, the festival features short film screenings, Q&A sessions with directors and cast members from Japan and abroad, as well as seminars and workshops (through June 10, 2026). In addition to screenings at venues such as Akasaka Intercity Conference, LIFORK HARAJUKU, WITH HARAJUKU HALL, and Euro Live, the festival is also broadcast worldwide from the Online Grand Theater. On the Online Grand Theater, this year's Grand Prix winner—the George Lucas Award recipient—along with the Excellence Award winners and nominated works from each category, will be streamed worldwide with English subtitles until June 30, 2026.

"Yosakoi" is a style of Japanese festival and dance that originated in Kochi Prefecture. Its most distinctive feature is dancing with "naruko" (wooden clappers) in hand, parading through the streets in colorful costumes with unique choreography that fuses traditional folk songs and modern music.

The "Harajuku Omotesando Genki Matsuri Super Yosakoi" is one of the largest Yosakoi festivals in the Tokyo metropolitan area and is held in the Harajuku and Omotesando area as a festival dedicated to Meiji Jingu Shrine. More than 100 teams from across Japan, including Kochi—the birthplace of Yosakoi—gather for the event.

While various Halloween parades are held across the country, the “Harajuku Omotesando Hello Halloween Pumpkin Parade” is Japan’s very first Halloween costume parade, which started in 1983. It has grown into a large-scale event with over 1,000 children participating every year.

The event features the “Pumpkin Parade,” where participants walk about 1 km along Harajuku and Omotesando, as well as a “Candy Rally” where you visit participating shops, and special Halloween menu items for sale. The "Omotesando Illumination" features approximately 150 zelkova trees illuminated by around 900,000 warm champagne-gold LED lights. As a pioneering illumination event in Japan, it is one of Tokyo’s most popular events, heralding the arrival of the Christmas season.
