Surprisingly affordable for its glitzy Ginza location, Shiawase no Pancake is still a spot that prides itself on high-quality ingredients. The pancakes are made using manuka honey from New Zealand and the finest fermented butter from Hokkaido - Japan’s dairy producing island. As a store, they sell some of the high-priced items seen on the world’s news, from melons to grapes. However, if these are a little out of your price range, you can try one of their delicious fruit parfaits. A favorite dessert in Japan, these are delicate layers of fresh fruit, cream, sponge cake and other treats. At Sembikiya, they use their best seasonal fruit, offering diners a taste of the country’s impressive farming prowess. An ideal spot for a more refined dessert, Sabou also offers high-quality onigiri (rice balls) and lunch sets, meaning you can add your dessert onto a light lunch for the perfect break from shopping.

One of the most impressive department stores in Ginza, Mitsukoshi has a whole host of dessert options in one place. The Kayuan Sweet Shop provides delicate sweets perfect for gifts in the ‘Food Garden’ on the B2 Floor along with over a dozen smaller stalls offering traditional Japanese treats such as dango and dorayaki. Ginza Chocolat and Ginza Sweets Park are great spots to browse while French bakery Johan has a European selection. There are some dine-in areas on these floors, but most stores are take-away or gift options instead.
