Tokyo Station

Tokyo Skytree®

Tokyo Sky Tree® is the world's largest broadcasting tower. Its height is 634 meters. (Information accurate as of November 2011)

At Tokyo Sky Tree®, it is possible to go shopping, eat, and enjoy scenery. The observation deck and observation galleria are particularly recommended. The Tembo deck is located 350 meters above the ground and is surrounded by a huge 360 degree glass panel. The roughly 70 km area that can be seen ahead is a magnificent view point.

Furthermore, the observation galleria is a spot that passes from 445 meters above ground via the glass corridor. Passing through this corridor gives an unusual feeling of walking in the air.

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is the symbol of Tokyo. Although its function as a broadcasting tower was handed over to Tokyo Sky Tree, it still attracts lots of people as a sightseeing spot.

The tower is 333-meter high. The main deck is around 150 meters high and the top deck is around 250 meters. You can see the view of Tokyo from main deck and top deck, and there are also cafes and shops.

Ameyoko Shopping Street

Ameyoko Shopping Street is a shopping street that runs along the sides of tracks of JR Ueno Station and JR Okachimachi Station. It is said that it started as a postwar black market and it still retains the busy atmosphere of those days.

Ryogoku Kokugikan

Ryogoku Kokugikan is a multipurpose hall located near Asakusa and Tokyo Sky Tree. As well as Grand Sumo wrestling three times a year, other various events are held at the hall.

The sumo museum on the first floor is free to enter except during sumo events. A variety of materials related to sumo are on display, making this a unique spot where sumo culture can be experienced. 

In addition, a stall where sumo goods can be bought is open during sumo events and every 5 days other than the day that sumo is held.

Sensoji Temple

Sensoji temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo, with a history of around 1,400 years. Kaminarimon gate, the entrance to the shrine approach, is a symbol of Asakusa and is an excellent spot for tourists to take photos.

As you pass through Kaminarimon gate, a shopping street called Nakamise sprawls out in front of you. Nakamise is lined with shops selling snacks, confectionery and traditional goods.

In front of the main hall, incense sticks are burning, and it is said that you can remain healthy if you bathe in the smoke.

Yasukuni Jinja

Yasukuni Jinja is located near the Imperial Palace. It was built in 1869 as a shrine dedicated to all those who died in the wars, and it retains the Japanese custom of worshipping it as a god of death.

The highlight is the Yūshūkan, located next to the main shrine. In the Yūshūkan, items related to the war, including some articles that belonged to those who died in the wars, are displayed. It is a spot where you can learn about the modern history of Japan and feel the tragicness of war again.

Meiji Jingu

Meiji Shrine is located in the area next to Harajuku. It was built in 1920, and the Emperor Meiji and his wife, the Empress Shoken, are enshrined there.

The huge inner garden, which surrounds the shrine, is so green that you wouldn’t think that it was located in the city centre, and is home to various plants and animals. Among them, the iris flowers that grow in clusters here are famous.

Edo-Tokyo Museum

The Edo-Tokyo Museum focuses on the theme of Tokyo, a metropolis that aims to inherit the Edo-Tokyo culture. The museum exhibits and introduces around 400 years of the history and culture of Tokyo starting from around the year 1600.

Mountain Takao

Mountain Takao is a quasi-national park located at the westernmost point of Tokyo. In 2007, it was chosen as a Michelin Green Guide 3-star spot due to its rich ecosystem.

It is located close to the city centre and has good access from Tokyo Station, taking about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and it has 6 courses of mountain trails and ropeways. For this reason, it is popular as a spot where visitors can easily go hiking on a day trip.

Ueno Zoo

Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa

Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is an aquarium located inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Minato City. The hall and aquarium are magically coloured using images and lighting.

Various animals are kept in the aquarium, but it’s worth checking out the "Dwarf Sawfish" which is the only Sawfish exhibition in the world. The Sawfish can be found in a 20m underwater tunnel on the 2nd floor.

Shinagawa Aquarium

Shinagawa Aquarium is located in the southernmost aquarium in Shinagawa City. The characteristic of this aquarium is that you can see creatures that live in the nearby sea, such as the river of Tokyo Bay and the tideland facing Shinagawa. The highlight is a tunnel tank of about 22 meters, where you can observe the sight of about 900 fish swimming from below.

Tokyo Joypolis

Tokyo Joypolis is an indoor theme park in Odaiba. It is one of the largest indoor theme parks in Japan.

Tokyo ONE PIECE Tower is an official ONE PIECE amusement park and goods shop located inside Tokyo Tower.

There are lots of attractions inspired by characters, and images are projected on a huge omnidirectional screen at the entrance which allows you to immerse yourself in the world of ONE PIECE.

Tokyo Big Sight is a convention center located in the area next to Odaiba. It is famous for holding Comic Market twice a year. Incidentally, the Comic Market refers to the event that mainly displays and sells manga.
