Kabukicho is located in Japan’s capital of Tokyo.
This district is full of people throughout the day, and over the years it has become one of Tokyo’s leading sightseeing spots.
Kabukicho has been called the Orient’s most famous entertainment district by some, and in addition to being popular among Japanese people, it is also visited by many people from overseas.

Kabukicho is the area that is bounded by Meiji Street to the east, the JR Central Line to the west, Yasukuni Street to the south, and Shokuan Street to the north.
Although it is only an area of several hundred square meters, there are over 3,000 business establishments concentrated in this area.
The area has all types of entertainment facilities including shops, restaurant, clubs, bars, karaoke shops, cinemas, bowling alleys, and game centers.
There is a wide variety of restaurants such as izakayas (Japanese style bars), cafes, and restaurants that offer food from all over the world.

If you head north from the east exit of the JR Shinjuku Station, you will see a large sign for Don Quijote’s main branch store, and once you have crossed Yasukuni Street you will be in Kabukicho.
The waves of people there are never ending, regardless of whether it is lunchtime or after dark.

When it is night Kabukicho becomes lit with dazzling neon lights of all colors.
Even late at night this one area still seems as bright as day.
The lights that have been uniquely designed for each store are really impressive.
It feels like you are walking through an amusement park even if you just walk down the street without entering any of the stores.
The dazzling brilliance of the neon lights continues on to the early morning because Kabukicho is a city that never sleeps.
There are many shops that stay open from late night to early morning, and as a result there are also many people that forget about time and stay at Kabukicho until the early morning.

However, areas where there are a lot of people are also crime-prone areas.
We hope that you able to enjoy Japanese style entertainment at Kabukicho while remaining aware of your personal safety.
