Malaychan: Halal Certified Restaurant In Ikebukuro

Malaychan is the Halal certified restaurant located in Ikebukuro. They acquired Halal certificate from prestigious Halal certified institution from Malaysia at a very early stage. Without worrying about what is inside of the meals, you can enjoy the food there without any stress. Malaychan runs two brunches, Malaychan 1 is a restaurant that serves Malaysian cuisine while Malaychan 2 serves Malaysian-Chinese meals such as Bak Kut Teh.

The restaurant’s name originated from the traditional and well-used Malaysian ingredient, Malaychan sauce. This sauce is used for Nasi Goreng and other leading Malaysian cuisine. The sauce includes shrimps and different kinds of herbs, and is the important ingredient to cook Malaysian cuisine.

Malaychan is the first and only restaurant that certified as an official Halal restaurant by the Malaysian Islam. They provide the taste of the local market in Malaysia by using authentic ingredients imported from Malaysia.

They have wide range of menu options (around 140 menus) available with many Malaysian styles such as Malay, Chinese, Indian and Nyonya and you might feel difficult to decide what to eat if you are there for the first time, though you should order the sampler platter (Zensai Moriawase) that comes with Satay, Malay Pickles, Fresh Spring Roll, Murtabak, a salty stuffed pancakes and otak-otak, a grilled fishcake made of ground fish meat mixed with tapioca starch and spices.

They currently have summer menu available. Our recommendation is “Tempeh Dry Curry” which they use tempeh inside of dry curry as a main ingredient. Also they have customizable black tapioca pearl drink which you can pick the drink and ice toppings of your favor.

Other great thing about the restaurant is that they have lunch delivery available. The lunch is popular among all Islamic people in Japan from those who live to visitors who find hard to find a safe food access during their stay. They mainly prepare Malay Halal cuisine though you can ask if they can make Halal food in your favorite way and they will try to meet your request. You can order or ask any questions via their website.
