4 Animal Cafes in Shibuya: Meets the incredibly KAWAII Animals!

Animal cafes have been a trend in Japan for several years now, and in the town of Shibuya, Tokyo, you can find cafes with KAWAII (cute) animals too! You can watch, feed, or in some cases, play with these animals while relaxing and sipping your drinks. In this article, we will show you four different animal cafes where you can enjoy the KAWAII fluffy friends!

Precautions when Using Animal Cafes

Some animals may cause you injuries if they are in bad mood. Consult the doctors if you have an animal allergy in any form. Please follow the instructions of the staff when playing with hedgehogs. If you cause injuries to the animals, you may be asked to pay for the treatment costs. On the other hand, you are responsible for your own damages or injuries caused by the animals, and the cafes will not pay any compensation in such cases.

ChikuChiku CAFE uses time-limited systems, but you can choose your length of time from two available options (30min or 60min) and you can buy snacks for feeding. We recommend the 60 minute course because you can play with many hedgehogs!

If you make a reservation, be sure to enter on time. You are advised to leave at the appointed time even if you are late, and if you are late more than 10 minutes the reservation is canceled automatically.

There are 24 seats available. 14 seats are for non-reserved on-site visitors, so there are 10 seats available for reservation for a single time-slot. If you want to reserve for more than 10 people, go for the whole shop private rental option instead.

Precautions for ChikuChiku CAFE

Hedgehogs can bite if they are in bad mood and may bristle their spines when they feel threatened. You should pet them gently to keep them in good mood. They also hate strong lights, so do not use the flash when taking pictures. They are very timid so try not to scare them with sudden movement or loud sounds.
