2020’s Place to Visit in Japan 4 – Which Shops to Go in Shibuya Parco?

Shibuya PARCO has reopened after being remodeled! There are plenty of stores inside that will satisfy your shopping needs. Let’s take a look at which shops our FUN! JAPAN editorial team recommends.

① Nintendo TOKYO

Nintendo TOKYO is the first store directly managed by the famous video game company. As you enter the shop, you will be greeted by a huge Mario statue. Many limited goods are sold here as well. You can find a variety of great souvenirs here, like Nintendo TOKYO logo shirts (4,800 JPY).

② TOUKEN RANBU YOROZUYAHONPO

This is the official goods store of the online game Touken Ranbu. Besides limited goods, there are also real swords based on Token Ranbu characters on display and for sale! The store's interior gives off a traditional Japanese vibe with it's classic Japanese architectural design.

③ Pokémon Center SHIBUYA

There's finally an official Pokémon store in Shibuya! The store has Graffiti Pikachu plushies, Swarovski🄬 crystal Pikachu figures, Pikachu smartphone cases, and plenty of other original goods that'll make you want to catch 'em all!

④ HOBONICHI CultureN

Located on Shibuya PARCO's 4th floor is the Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun store, an expansion of the brand well-known for its Hobonichi Techo planner. Besides the iconic Hobonichi Techo, there are many other specially-selected goods to choose from.

Currently, there is an ongoing special exhibition called “'Boku Doraemon' - Doraemon no Hajimari” (I'm Doraemon - The Creation of Doraemon) in collaboration with Fujiko F. Fujio Museum in Kawasaki City and their Doraemon 50th Anniversary Exhibition (open until 30th January 2020).

⑤ MIRAI SAKE/KUBOTA SAKE BAR

Here, you can savor the taste of famous Japanese sake such as Kubota, WAKAZE, and Mutsu Hassen. The store also has YUMMY SAKE, a system that uses AI technology to determine your preferred sake taste.

⑥ Kome and Circus

The concept of Kome and Circus is a wild game and insect-themed izakaya that will shock and delight you. Here, you can try various dishes made of wild game and insects! Their bizarre menu consists of dishes like crocodile feet or desserts such as worm parfaits. Check out our article featuring this restaurant below to see photos of the dishes from their menu!
