The Kingyozaka cafe is a very old and unusual shop hidden in Tokyo’s backstreets where you can enjoy chinese tea, cakes, and food.

The most famous speciality is the beef black curry available during lunch.
Looks delicious doesn’t it?
Running for 350 years in the streets of Hongo-sanchome near Tokyo University, Kingyozaka is a unique place which sell many different species of goldfish and you can also relax while drinking some coffee.
The small café is offering some lunch menus such as a Japanese traditional grilled fish set, homemade cakes and drinks especially made with chinese tea.

But the menu which attracts most of the people is the beef black curry!

This curry has a thick sauce which has a natural dark color made with onions and vegetables cooked for a long period of time.

The curry itself is not very spicy but it’s still absolutely delicious and has many different fragrances.

The beef has been cooked for so many hours that it’s so tender you can sink into it with your spoon!
Just enjoy this dish while listening the classic music from the café and take your time.
Or read one of the many books about goldfish that the cafe offers.

When leaving, you can have a look at the many goldfish decorated souvenirs and items sold near the exit.
