Ice Cream Claw Machines

In this country, one might easily find the soft toy claw machine, key chain claw machine, towel claw machine, or the idol figurine claw machine.
However, in Odaiba’s Diver City, I found one of the most intriguing claw machines I have come across since the beginning of my time in Japan – the ice cream claw machine!

The rules of the game are very much alike to a normal claw machine, with the exception of the potential prize of a delicious cup of Haagen-Dazs Ice cream.
The freezer machine packed various flavor of Haagen-Dazs ranging from the usual vanilla and chocolate, to the more unique matcha truffle and mango flavor.
The claw of the machine was also uniquely shaped, with three handles made of plastic as opposed to the usual 2 made of metal.
Each play cost 100 Yen.

I decided to try my luck with one but alas, did not manage to successfully get one.
Given that Haagen Dazs costs only ~250 Yen per mini tub in Japan, I figured that it would be smarter for me to save my money and just buy one at the nearby convenience store.
That said, it was an interesting experience trying to capture a tub of ice cream, and will be a good story to tell my friends back home.
