.Shiba Shinmei Eitaro is a famous Japanese confectionary shop established in 1885.
As it is near Shiba Daijingu Shrine and Zojo-ji Temple, confectionaries from Shiba Shinmei Eitaro have been dedicated at times of festivals and events.
One of the most popular lineups from Shiba Shinmei Eitaro is Monaka.
Monaka is a Japanese confectionary of red bean paste (azuki) sandwiched between thin crispy wafers made from rice. Ordinary monaka has red bean paste in it but inner paste can also be made from navy bean, yam, or peanuts etc.
