Amaou Strawberry Tart in a Dessert Shop at Kyoto

Japanese strawberry is famous because it's (sweet) yummy, tasty, and juicy. Whoever tries Japanese strawberry would definitely want to eat it again and again. When you visit Japan during strawberry season, you can eat it as many as you want! And don't forget to try "Amaou" (あまおう) strawberry, which is known as the most delicious and most famous Japanese strawberry.

Quil Fait Bon is a dessert shop that makes Amaou strawberry tart with plenty of Amaou strawberries. The tastes of strawberry and tart go together very well, the best combination I must say! This will totally refresh you from tiredness from touring around all day.

You Can Eat in The Shop with Tea, or Take Out

If you want to sit inside the shop, the best time to go there is either before 1 pm or after 6 pm. The shop is usually crowded, and there’s a 0.5-1 hour queue during peak hours. The shop offers different tarts and cakes in the menu, such as Red berries tart, Mango pudding tart, Classic chocolate cake, etc., and it also serves several kinds of drinks, including coffee, tea, and semi-carbonated drinks.

Tea is the most popular pairing to the sweets and desserts the shop offers, and so if you have time to sit in, make sure you try tea!

However, if you don’t have much time, good news is that they provide take out service!

The Limited-edition Cake as Well

The most interesting thing for me (which I think is unique in Japan) is the special menu that will be sold only during specific seasons or special events. For example, the shop offers a limited-edition cake for Valentine’s day and a winter seasonal fruit tart. If you cannot catch this special menu, don’t worry, they provide special menus for spring, summer, and autumn as well :)

It is Near to The Sanjo (三条) Station, in Kyoto

This shop, which is located along the small river, has cute decorations and provides a nice atmosphere that you can enjoy with friends or with a date. After having afternoon tea with your favorite cake, you can also buy some cakes or little Baton for your family and friends.

How to get there? It’s so easy, only 3-minute walk from Sanjo station (Keihan line). Sanjo area is also good for shopping and dining, and it’s walking distance to the Shijo area, where you can enjoy other famous tourist spots like Gion Street and Yasaka Shrine.

If you have a chance to visit Kyoto, don’t forget to come here!
