Ubiquitous for its ease to create and consume, the Takoyaki is a Japanese street food beloved by tourists and locals alike. Now, you can take this love for Takoyaki one step further by visiting the Tokyo Takoyaki Museum located in Odaiba’s Decks beach shopping mall!

This museum is a mish-mash of concepts. Most of the layout is taken up by a food court comprising five famous takoyaki stores, followed by a takoyaki temple, a takoyaki gift corner, and some exhibits explaining the tools and history of the takoyaki.

I learned that the five stores were brought specially from different regions around Japan to give visitors of the museum a taste of the best takoyaki there is to offer. Takoyaki can be purchased via the ticket vending machines. You are then free to watch the takoyaki being skillfully made on the hot plates. Be sure to consume them while they are fresh off the plates, but be careful as the insides of the takoyaki tend to get hot and may burn you.

After your meal, wander around the museum and take in the sights and smell. You may visit the takoyaki shrine, or even take a picture in front of the takoyaki adventure ship. Admission is free (with the exception for the food) so do make a visit to the Takoyaki Museum.
