A new hotel offering a fresh style of stay has opened in Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most popular sightseeing areas. Asakusa is a town where the charm of the old downtown remains strong, with attractions such as Kaminarimon Gate, Senso-ji Temple, traditional shopping streets, and scenic views along the Sumida River.
In July 2026, the lifestyle apartment hotel "CROSS Suites Tokyo Asakusa" opened here. This hotel is the first property of the new "CROSS Suites" brand developed by ORIX Hotel Management. With the theme "Play, Discover, Connect – Asakusa Neighbors Life," it offers experiences that allow guests to travel as if they were living there, perfect for group trips and long-term stays.

Located along Bashadori Street, close to Senso-ji Temple, "CROSS Suites Tokyo Asakusa" is a lifestyle apartment hotel where you can live like a local while enjoying interaction with local people, food, and culture, as well as with other guests and hotel crew. The Communal Lounge "Hang Out @CROSS Suites" for Guest Interaction
Next to the lobby on the 1st floor, there is a communal lounge called "Hang Out @CROSS Suites" that guests can use freely. Here, you can enjoy table soccer, board games, and mini crane games, and regular events are held where guests can have fun together. There is also a public kitchen at the back of the lounge where you can cook freely, creating a space where spontaneous encounters and interactions unique to travel can happen.
During our visit, guests from various countries were enjoying Jenga and table soccer with the hotel crew!
Artworks Reflecting Asakusa’s History and Culture
Inside the hotel, you’ll find wall art themed around the streets, diverse culture, and the fusion of Asakusa’s past, present, and future. Most of the works are by artists based in Tokyo.
Artworks are displayed throughout the building, including the entrance, common areas, and hallways, so just walking around inside feels like touring an art gallery. Be sure to find your favorite piece!
Concept Rooms Galore! A Variety of Guest Rooms with an Asakusa Flair
At "Cross Suites Tokyo Asakusa," there are 78 rooms in 11 types, accommodating up to 6 guests per room. Many room types are suitable for groups or families of 4 or more, and all rooms feature a worktop with a sink (no stove).
This time, we’ll introduce some of the unique guest rooms!
Asakusa Tatami Room (Capacity: 1–4 guests / 54m²)
This Japanese-style room features a tatami area. The design lets you feel the charm of Asakusa, with art inspired by local crafts and Hokusai’s ukiyo-e, as well as wallpaper colors reminiscent of Kaminarimon. You can even see Senso-ji Temple from the window! Bedding is in the traditional Japanese style, with futons laid out on the tatami.
Tokyo Goldfish Suite Room (Capacity: 1–6 guests / 63m²)
This special concept room is a collaboration with the Sumida Aquarium in nearby Oshiage, Sumida Ward. The theme is Tokyo’s goldfish culture, as the city was once known for goldfish breeding. The room features goldfish designs selected by aquarium staff, all with a connection to Tokyo. At night, the goldfish on the bedroom ceiling gently glow!
Suite Room (Capacity: 1–6 guests / 56m²)
This room features a spacious living area and bedroom. With a bathtub and washing machine, it’s perfect for long-term stays. This is the room type I stayed in! I’ll share a detailed report later.
Superior Room (Capacity: 1–3 guests / 30m²)
Compact yet simple and relaxing, this room type also features a comfortable sofa next to the bed. The bathroom comes with a bathtub, ensuring a pleasant stay.
Deluxe Family Room (Capacity: 1–5 guests / 54m²)
Spacious guest rooms suitable for families and groups. Each room is equipped with a dining table, making it perfect for everyone to enjoy meals and spend quality time together.

Room Facilities and Amenities (Common to All Types)
All guest rooms are equipped with a worktop with a sink (no stove), a microwave, tableware, and a refrigerator with a freezer, providing an environment where you can “stay as if you live here.”
Except for some rooms, most bathrooms are separated from the toilet, and all rooms except the standard room have both a bath and toilet. Basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided.
Amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, and hairbrushes can be taken as needed from the amenity corner located in the 1st floor lobby. Cleansing products and lotions are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own.
Convenient for Long Stays! Comfortable Facilities
"Cross Suites Tokyo Asakusa" is also well-equipped with facilities to ensure a comfortable stay for medium- to long-term guests.
Laundry (24 hours / Paid)
The laundry room on the 1st floor, equipped with washing machines and dryers, is available 24 hours a day. This allows you to travel with minimal luggage.
Gym (7:00–22:00 / Free)
On the 2nd floor, there is a fitness gym available free of charge. Perfect for refreshing yourself during a long stay.
Self Lockers (24 hours / Free)
Next to the front desk on the 1st floor, there are self-service lockers where you can store your luggage before check-in or after check-out. Enjoy sightseeing at Sensoji Temple or Tokyo Skytree hands-free.
Water Dispensers (24 hours / Free)
Each floor is equipped with a water dispenser, available free of charge at any time during your stay. This eco-friendly service eliminates the need to purchase bottled water.
Stay in a Suite Room! Experience “Traveling as if Living”
This time, I stayed in a suite room. From here, I will share the points I personally recommend to tourists based on my actual experience.
The key color of "Cross Suites Tokyo Asakusa," shocking pink, is also used on the card keys. The cute design makes you want to take a photo.
The spacious suite room is furnished with four regular beds, one extra bed, and one sofa bed.
The bedroom is a stylish space characteristic of Asakusa, boldly incorporating yellow, green, and red colors.
On each bed, there was a set of two-piece loungewear with pink stripes on a white background.
From the bedroom window, you can see Senso-ji Temple! It’s truly a location where you can feel the essence of Asakusa.

The spacious living room features a dining table that seats six.
The large wall-mounted monitor allows you to watch terrestrial, BS/CS broadcasts, as well as Netflix and YouTube. You can select from English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean languages.
*To use video streaming services such as Netflix, guests must use their own accounts.
If you talk to the AI speaker in the room, it will provide information about the hotel and local sightseeing spots. You can choose from English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Thai languages.
The worktop with sink is equipped with dishes, mugs, chopsticks, forks, and other tableware. You can bring back meals purchased from nearby convenience stores or shops and enjoy them leisurely in your room.
The suite room comes with a laundry machine, making it convenient to do laundry during your stay.
Although it was unfortunately rainy on the day of my stay, I was able to spend a relaxing time in the spacious apartment-style room. Surrounded by the view from the window and the unique bedroom design, I fully enjoyed the feeling of “living in Asakusa.”
Designed as a base for sightseeing in Tokyo and Asakusa, this hotel is perfect for family trips, group trips, and long-term stays, but I also felt it’s ideal for a change of pace or a refreshing getaway!
