First Collaboration in 3 Years! Overview of "Chiikawa☆Starry Skytree and the Secret Island"
"Chiikawa☆Starry Skytree® and the Secret Island" will be held at Tokyo Skytree from Friday, July 10, 2026, to Saturday, October 31, 2026.
At the venue, you’ll find plenty of photo-worthy attractions, including exhibits, photo spots, a limited-time cafe, and exclusive goods, all set on the 450m-high Tembo Galleria. You can enjoy an adventure with Chiikawa and friends, feeling as if you’ve stepped into the world of "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island."
Tokyo Skytree × Chiikawa Sneak Preview! To the "Secret Island" 450m Above Ground
This time, we attended a special preview event for the press, held ahead of the general opening. We got to experience the world of "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" spread throughout Tokyo Skytree before anyone else.
On Floor 330, the entrance to Tokyo Skytree, you’ll find a three-dimensional scene depicting the beginning of the story, where Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi are holding a mysterious flyer. Just like Chiikawa and friends, your excitement will build as you wonder what’s about to begin.
The main attraction of this event is the "Tembo Galleria," located 450 meters above ground. Even the Tembo Shuttle (elevator) that takes you there is filled with adventure-themed decorations.
Inside the elevator, you’ll see illustrations of Chiikawa and friends on a boat journey to the secret island, along with lots of cheerful conversations. You’ll feel as if you’re boarding the same ship as Chiikawa and heading off to an island in the sky.
Chiikawa and Friends Await in Their Southern Island Style
When you arrive at Floor 445 of the Tembo Galleria and the elevator doors open, you are greeted by the "Welcome Area" right in front of you.
Chiikawa and friends, dressed in costumes from the movie "Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" and wearing tropical island outfits, are waiting to welcome you. Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi appear as three-dimensional statues, making you want to stand next to them and take photos.
All around, food stalls selling items like cotton candy and yakisoba are realistically recreated, making you feel as if you've been invited to a festival on the island. If you look closely at the pillars, you'll find cheerful words written on them. These are actually welcome songs from the islanders. The attention to detail in the recreation is not to be missed.
Additionally, the Welcome Area offers a "Photo Service" (1,800 yen per photo). You can take commemorative photos with the characters against the breathtaking view of Tokyo from the Tembo Galleria. The photos you take will be given to you in a special event-exclusive photo mount.
Enjoy Island Life with Chiikawa and Friends Alongside Stunning Views
In the corridor area of the Tembo Galleria, you’ll find introductions to the movie’s characters and illustrations of Chiikawa and friends enjoying their life on the island.
As you walk along the long, winding corridor, you’ll feel as if you’re spending time on a southern island together with Chiikawa and friends. The spectacular view from 450 meters above ground adds to the sense of freedom, making you feel like you’re on a vacation in the sky.
If you look closely at the displays, you’ll notice playful touches everywhere, such as the “mermaid scales” that are a key point in the movie sparkling brightly, or Usagi’s attack items popping out in 3D.
As you proceed through the Tembo Galleria and reach the turnaround area, you’ll find a photo spot featuring panels of Chiikawa and friends exploring a cave. You can take a photo as if you’re boarding a raft together and setting off on an adventure into an unknown cave with them.
Chiikawa Faces a Giant Siren Alone!
The atmosphere quickly shifts from the fun island life, as a siren from the movie awaits you on the slope of the Tembo Galleria.
Attracted by the tempting offer of an "easy subjugation" and "100 times the reward," Chiikawa and friends visit the island. But is the subjugation really that easy...? Let's follow the story depicted on the walls of the slope and move forward.
At the top of the slope, you'll find a giant siren and a board featuring Chiikawa bravely facing it alone.
The "Starry Support Magnet (set of 2)" (440 yen / 8 designs in total), sold at the capsule toy machine next door, allows you to write a support message. Stick your message magnet on the board to cheer on Chiikawa as they struggle to save their captured friends. *Capsule toy purchases are limited to 2 times per person.
Get Captured by the Siren!? Photo & Plushie Photo Spots with Chiikawa and Friends
As you proceed further, you'll find a photo spot where Hachiware and Usagi are tied up with kelp by the siren. If you take a photo with a desperate expression as if you've been captured too, you'll get a striking shot. If you look closely at the siren in the back, you'll notice its ears are moving, so don't miss it!
It's not just you who can take photos of being captured. There's also a "plushie photo spot" where you can set up your favorite plushie and take pictures.
You need to bring your own plushie, but you can capture adorable yet slightly unfortunate Chiikawa moments, such as being caught by the siren or tied up with kelp.

Introducing the Tokyo Skytree × Chiikawa Limited “Island Café” Collaboration Menu
The “Island Café,” where you can enjoy event-exclusive menu items, is now open at “SKYTREE CAFE” on Floor 340 of the Tembo Deck. The menu features food, sweets, and drinks inspired by the world and characters of “Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island.”
Not only are the dishes adorable, but there are also plenty of fun surprises for fans of the series. Here, we’ll introduce the exciting collaboration menu items.
Starry Beach Seafood Curry (1,650 yen)
This vibrant blue curry is inspired by the “starry beach” that stretches out before you. Topped with seafood such as shrimp, squid, and scallops, it’s a gorgeous dish reminiscent of a southern island. The combination of blue curry and colorful toppings makes it perfect for photos.
Otter’s Fruit Parfait (1,540 yen)
This tropical parfait is packed with plenty of exotic fruits. You can enjoy the sweetness and juiciness of various fruits in this luxurious and colorful dessert. It’s a menu item full of the otter teacher’s love for sweets!
Momonga’s Cheese Naan (880 yen)
This playful menu item is inspired by the “dough” that Momonga eats in the story. The chewy naan is filled with sweet and spicy seasoned chicken. It’s served with original design wrapping paper.
AA Battery Roll Cake (880 yen)
This roll cake looks just like a real AA battery and is themed after this important item from the story. Among the many cute menu items, this one stands out with its mysterious presence.
Four Drinks Inspired by Chiikawa Characters (1,100 yen each)
There are four drinks inspired by Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and Momonga & the used bookstore. Each drink has a different color and flavor to match the character. It’s recommended to order different types with friends or family and take photos together.
Original Coasters and Clips… Don’t Miss the Novelties!
For every collaboration café menu item you order, you’ll receive one random “original coaster” (8 designs in total). In addition, if you order over 4,000 yen (tax included) from the collaboration menu, you’ll get one “original signboard-style clip.”
How to Use the Island Café
The café operates on a 60-minute rotation system. When using the café, be sure to arrive in front of “SKYTREE CAFE” on Floor 340 at least 10 minutes before your reserved time.
To order from the collaboration menu, you’ll need a “Tembo Deck & Tembo Galleria Ticket” and a “meal voucher,” which are sold together as a “meal voucher set observation deck admission ticket.” If you don’t have this ticket, you won’t be able to order from the collaboration menu even if there are seats available on the day. Since the “meal voucher set observation deck admission ticket” is sold on a first-come, first-served basis, those who want to visit the Island Café should purchase it in advance from the official Tokyo Skytree event website.

Don't miss the night! Special videos and Chiikawa-themed lighting
The Tokyo Skytree × Chiikawa collaboration continues to offer fun even after sunset. At "SKYTREE ROUND THEATER®" on Tembo Deck Floor 350, special event videos are screened using the windows as a giant screen.
With 24 projectors and 13 speakers, you can enjoy a powerful six-minute video along with the night view from 350 meters above ground. Please check the official website for the screening schedule.

On select days during the event period, special lighting inspired by each character such as Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi will illuminate the tower. The designs change approximately every 100 seconds, so try to catch the moment when your favorite character colors Tokyo Skytree.
