Odaiba is one-stop sightseeing spots in Tokyo where tourists can shopping, dining, enjoyingrecreation park, also cruising by boat. Odaiba can be reached with just 35-minute train ride from Tokyo downtown. Odaiba itself is actually artificial island in Tokyo Bay created through the reclamation process. Then this artificial island began to be developed by building big malls, hotels, restaurants, luxury apartments, offices and piers. So that, Odaiba become a popular tourist spot and many visited by local and foreign tourists. For myself, I had several times visited Odaiba. Usually I come there for shopping while enjoying the view of Tokyo Bay. However, in this time, I came to Odaiba not for that purpose, but to enjoy the beauty of Kawazu Sakura Flowers also cruising by boat in Tokyo Bay.

When I arrived in Odaiba, that was sunny day with bright blue skies. I could not wait to see Kawazu Sakura Flowers. This flower is a kind of cherry blossoms that blooming in the winter and have a larger petals and lighter pink color than Sakura flowers in common. Originally Kawazu Sakura is from Kawazu City in Izu Peninsula area, but recently it is spreaded in Tokyo and its outlying areas. In Odaiba, Kawazu Sakura flowers are growing along the road in front of Aqua City Mall towards Odaiba Seaside Park Pier. Close to Kawazu Sakura Trees that already in full blooms, there were many foreign tourists who were taking pictures while admiring the beauty of these flowers. I didn’t want to miss to take pihotos as well. I tried to take photos from many different angles, also made replica Statue of Liberty as an object.

After I satisfied to take photos and admired Kawazu Sakura Flowers, I continued to walk towards Odaiba Seaside Park Pier through a bridge that is located outside the building Aqua City Mall. This location is one of favorite tourists’ spot who want to take photos with the spectacular background of Tokyo Bay with the Rainbow Bridge and the replica of Liberty Statue. Odaiba Seaside Park Pier can be reached with a 2-minute walk from the Aqua City Mall. The boat that I would ride is a kind of water bus that runs every 40-45 minutes. I just wanted to join a short route, so I decided to take a one-way ride to Hinode Pier at a cost of 480 yen.

At 14:45, the boat I rode was docked at the pier. I began to enter the boat after all former passengers were out. There was not so many passengers on board only about 20 people on that day. When the boat started cruising, I went up to the top deck of the boat to enjoy the view of Tokyo Bay. The view from the boat deck was very beautiful. I was able to enjoy Tokyo view from different perspectives while breathtaking fresh sea air and watching Seagulls Birds were flying over the sea. This atmosphere made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The trip on the boat only spent for 15 minutes. The boat I was riding began docking at Hinode Pier which meant as my ending of today’s sightseeing. My trip felt pretty short, but I was very satisfied on that day. On the other day, I would like to try cruising by boat with different design and also with a longer route to another pier.
