"OMO" is one of the hotel brands developed by Hoshino Resorts. The "OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts" that we are introducing this time is a hotel where you can experience "Naniwa Luxury", a combination of Osaka-like hospitality incorporating "laughter" and "meddlesomeness", and a sophisticated space and high-quality service. Osaka has been popular for rakugo and manzai since ancient times, and the people of Osaka also value "laughter" in their daily lives. In addition, Osaka is known as a "city of humanity", and it is often the case that shop staff and passers-by provide more than necessary service to customers and passers-by. This action is called "meddlesomeness" (おせっかい / osekkai), but it shows the depth of the feelings of the people of Osaka who want to take care of others.

By combining these two opposing elements, they want their guests to feel the concept of the hotel, "Horetemauwa, Naniwa" (meaning "Fall in love, Naniwa" in Kansai dialect), and propose a unique journey at the hotel. Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku are within walking distance, and Universal Studios Japan can be accessed by a free round-trip shuttle bus (reservation required, approximately 30 minutes), making it the best location for first-time visitors to Osaka. The hotel has a total of 436 rooms, a restaurant offering a morning buffet and dinner, and a cafeteria.

Breakfast is served buffet-style with both Japanese and Western dishes. The signature dish is the "Dashi Maki Sea Treasure Bowl", which is a combination of plenty of seafood sourced from the Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market marinated in their original sauce, served with a rolled omelette and rice. This dish is served from live kitchen.

Corner Twin Room

The charm of this hotel is that it offers 8 types of rooms, providing a rich variety to choose from according to your travel style.

In addition to the typical twin rooms, king rooms, and deluxe rooms, it also offers the "Corner Twin Room" where you can monopolize the view of Osaka city from the large windows on two sides, and the "Dog-Friendly Twin Room" where you can stay with your beloved dog. For families or groups traveling in large numbers, we recommend the "Dandan Room" with two-tiered bed spaces that you can crawl into like a secret base, and the "OMO House" equipped with a kitchen and walk-in closet.

Among them, the "Idobata Suite" is particularly unique and noteworthy. In the living room, there is an "OSAKA Board" depicting representative tourist spots in Osaka. The room name "Idobata" means "well-side" in Japanese, and it is designed to facilitate relaxed conversations, just like a well-side gossip-session (井戸端会議 / idobata-kaigi - similar to 'water-cooler or coffee-maker conversation' in modern time), with a large table and sofa laid out in front of the "OSAKA Board". In addition, each of the bed spaces in the four corners has a partition, allowing you to relax in a private space. As it can accommodate up to 6 people, it is also recommended for families.

We are also making environmentally friendly efforts, such as installing water jugs instead of bottled water in the rooms, and using pump bottles for shampoo and other items.

Plenty of facilities such as garden areas, large public baths, and public spaces

The hotel boasts three unique facilities. The first is the garden area "Miyagurin". With a vast area of about 7,600 square meters, it features a lawn square, tiered deck terraces and walking paths surrounding it, allowing you to relax in the city. Every night from 19:30 to 22:00, the hotel holds an exclusive event for its guests called "PIKAPIKA PikaPika NIGHT". It has installed neon art of Osaka-like icons such as tigers and pufferfish in the gazebo, and there are unique productions such as "PIKAPIKA Fireworks" that launch fireworks on the exterior film covering the building walls. The hotel also offers free "takoyaki" cooked in front of you by the craftsmen of "Aizuya", the birthplace of takoyaki, and "craft beer" made at a brewery in Osaka. You can use this place to sit on the lawn square and read a book, plan your trip on the terrace seats, or spend your time as you wish. In addition, the entrance area is designed to gently rise from the ground to the second floor of the hotel, allowing you to enjoy a lush view from inside the room.

The second is the bathing building "Yuya". The ceiling has an open skylight that leads to the outside, and the bathroom that gently reflects the light coming in from the outside is like a white different space. After the bath, the hotel provides ice candy (free of charge).

The third is the public space "OMO Base". The spacious "OMO Base", which is about 85 meters long, features a "Neighborhood Map" filled with information about the area where the hotel is located, OMO Cafe & Bar, OMO Dining, and a library lounge. Guests can gather information, relax, and enjoy their stay in their own way.

Let's go, a savvy walk in the new world

One of the unique charms of this hotel is the "Go-KINJO" initiative, which supports guests in immersing themselves in the local neighborhood within walking distance from the hotel, through new discoveries and encounters. It has set up a large "Neighborhood Map" board where our staff introduce recommended local shops and hidden gems that they have personally discovered and which are not listed in guidebooks. The hotel also organizes activities such as the "Honai Iko Ka, Tsuu-na Shinsekai Sanpo (English support available)" tour, where guests can stroll around "Shinsekai", known as a downtown area of Osaka, with the neighborhood guide "OMO Ranger".

Additionally, the hotel has English-speaking staff on hand, and there are in-room booklets available in English, Chinese, and Korean. There is also a QR code on the automatic check-in machine, so you can easily check in even if you don't understand Japanese. There are many features to entertain guests, such as lockers with random designs of the locker number labels inspired by skewers like "onions and quail eggs". There is also a "charging counter" where you can charge your smartphone during waiting times for check-in, etc.

The first in Japan to apply a wrapping to the exterior, introducing environmentally friendly technology to the architecture

The hotel's commitment to the environment is also a point worth noting. The exterior of the hotel building is covered with 5,265 sheets of white film, which contributes to the reduction of solar heat load through envelope heat insulation and the mitigation of the heat island phenomenon. According to verification results comparing with the case without the film, it was able to reduce the amount of solar radiation entering from the windows by 30-45%. Also, in "PIKAPIKA Sparkling NIGHT", about 13,000 LED lights, including indirect LED lighting, are adjusted and shone onto this exterior film, showing it as an image. Unlike typical projection mapping, the feature of this is that the light is applied indirectly, so the light source does not enter the eye, resulting in a soft appearance.
