1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts Accommodation Review

When travelling around Tokyo Disney Resort®, you don’t want to compromise on either convenient transportation or the enjoyment of your hotel stay. For those looking for both, we recommend “1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts” in the Shin-Urayasu area of Chiba Prefecture, Urayasu City. There’s a free shuttle bus to Tokyo Disney Resort® that takes about 30 minutes. The hotel offers comfortable rooms for up to 6 guests and a convenience store open 24 hours, so you can enjoy your hotel time before and after your visit to the parks.

This time, two editors from JTB, a major Japanese travel agency—one from Japan and one from Hong Kong—actually stayed for one night and two days. They checked out the guest rooms, exclusive guest spaces, dinner, breakfast, free shuttle bus, and access from the airport. We’ll share all the highlights with you!

What Kind of Hotel is 1955 Tokyo Bay? About 10 Minutes by Free Shuttle from JR Shin-Urayasu Station

“2nd Room” – Convenient Before and After Your Tokyo Disney Trip

The feature that made us feel the hotel really “thinks about travelers’ needs” is the guest-only shared space called “2nd Room.” It’s available for free from 5:00 a.m. after pre-check-in until 3:00 p.m. on your check-out day. There are sofa seats, spaces where you can take off your shoes and relax, and semi-private booths, so you can use it just like a second room before entering or after leaving your guest room.

It’s practical for when you arrive early and are waiting for your room, when you want to meet up with your group after returning from the park, or when you want to let your kids rest before departure. Nearby, you’ll find a microwave, toaster, water dispenser, and ice machine, so you can heat up snacks purchased at the 24-hour “Food & Drink Station.”

Concept Room: "50s Stardom Room"

1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts Accommodation Review Concept Room 50s Stardom Room

This time, we stayed in one of the two special guest rooms, the "50s Stardom Room." The interior, inspired by a star's dressing room and stage, is equipped with a vanity, costumes, fan letters, a record player, mirror ball, neon sign, and even a stand microphone to make you feel like a star. There is no TV, but instead, the room is filled with features that let you immerse yourself in an extraordinary experience and enjoy your stay to the fullest.

I also changed into the polka-dot costume provided in the room, grabbed the microphone, and stepped onto the stage. Striking poses under the mirror ball, then moving to the jukebox-style wall... it was photo time!

The records are not just for decoration—you can actually play and listen to them.

This room is recommended for those who want to enjoy the stay itself and make it a memorable experience. There are also costumes for men, and you are allowed to wear them outside the room within the hotel.

Enjoying Food | Cafeteria & Breakfast Buffet

Head to the Cafeteria at Night. American Classics After a Day at the Park

For dinner, we went to the guests-only "Cafeteria." It's a self-order system where you can casually enjoy freshly prepared dishes. During our visit, we mainly ordered classic American dishes that debuted in June 2026.

Our favorite was the "Country Captain," a dish of curry-flavored chicken and tomato stew served over raisin rice. The balance of sweetness, acidity, and spices was outstanding—truly addictive! The bone-in chicken was also authentic, and although I thought I couldn't possibly finish it all at first, I ended up eating every bite.

We also filled our table with meaty beef hot dogs, rich macaroni and cheese, clam chowder, Caesar salad, and warm brownies. If you share, even two people can try a variety of flavors. The cafeteria is open from 18:00 to 23:00 (last order at 22:30). It's easy to stop by after a day at the park, and after closing, there's a 24-hour Food & Drink Station available, which is very reassuring.

Additionally, special limited-time menu items are also available. During our visit, a shaved ice dessert was being offered exclusively during dinner time. The food stall-style counter, the performance of preparing it right in front of you, and the flavours suited to adults made for a highly satisfying experience! It’s exciting to think about coming back in a different season to see what’s new.

Breakfast Buffet Starts with a Live Kitchen Reuben Sandwich

The next morning, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the “Restaurant.” The Reuben sandwich, prepared right before your eyes, features pastrami beef, sautéed cabbage, and cheddar cheese, all sandwiched together and grilled to a golden crisp with butter. In addition to Western dishes, there are plenty of side dishes that go well with rice, salads, bread, and sweet options, so even two people with different tastes can be satisfied. It was a satisfying buffet breakfast.

Breakfast is served from 6:00 to 10:00 (last entry at 9:30). The hours are convenient even on days when you want to leave early to match the park opening. In the bright, open space with sunlight streaming through the windows, we were able to recharge while discussing our plans for the day.

Access to Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea|About 30 Minutes by Free Shuttle

From the hotel, it takes about 30 minutes to reach both Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea® by free shuttle bus, with no reservation required. In the morning, you can head straight to the parks from the hotel, and on your way back, the bus takes you directly to the hotel.

Access from Haneda & Narita Airports|Convenient Limousine Bus

Getting to the hotel from the airports is also easy. From Haneda Airport, take the limousine bus to the nearest “Bayside Hotel Area” stop, which takes about 50 minutes, then walk about 4 minutes. From Narita Airport, the limousine bus goes directly to the hotel’s main entrance in about 90 minutes. For travelers arriving from overseas, being able to avoid carrying suitcases on the train is a huge relief. The location also makes it easy to include a stay before or after your arrival or departure.

1955 Tokyo Bay Accommodation Review|Who It’s Recommended For (and Who It’s Not)

What we learned from actually staying here is that “1955 Tokyo Bay” is much more than just a hotel with convenient access to the parks. The 2nd Room available from early morning, spacious guest rooms for families and groups, dining options available late into the night, and the photogenic 1950s-inspired atmosphere all make your trip richer and more comfortable.

We recommend this hotel for those who want to enjoy their time at the hotel before and after visiting the parks, families with children, groups of up to six people, and anyone looking for a place to rest before or after arriving early or travelling to or from the airport. On the other hand, if you prioritize exclusive benefits available only at Disney Hotels or partner hotels, you should compare those options before deciding.

Room rates vary depending on the date, number of guests, room type, and whether meals are included. When choosing, it’s best to compare not just the price, but also the free shuttle, 2nd Room, breakfast, and maximum room occupancy. Be sure to check the latest accommodation plans and availability on the official website or booking sites before making a reservation.
