Seaside Resort Hotel "seven x seven Itoshima"
"seven x seven Itoshima" is the brand’s very first hotel. Since its opening in March 2024, it has been loved as a resort where guests can feel the rich nature of Itoshima up close.
In April 2026, the hotel underwent a complete renovation with the concept of a "Sunset Beach Club." To further enhance the comfortable experience where food, music, wellness, and activities are seamlessly connected, a new sauna and pool area—highly praised at other properties of the brand—were added, and the hotel’s facilities were refreshed for a grand reopening. The environment has also been improved so that guests can enjoy even more beautiful views of the Itoshima sea and sunsets from the hotel. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing retreat stay that soothes both body and mind.
Ocean View Rooms: Spacious Guest Rooms That Feel One with the Sea
The hotel consists of 47 rooms across two buildings: the WEST Wing and the EAST Wing. with a total of 47 rooms. Some rooms feature ocean views and private terraces. There are 13 room types, ranging from standard rooms to suites, and every room offers the luxury of enjoying these spectacular views. The hotel's nine suites are located on the top floor and, depending on the room type, feature amenities such as rooftop terraces, jet baths, ocean-view bathrooms, and BBQ grills (available for an additional fee).
During my stay, I stayed in the 48-square-meter "Standard Bunk" room. As soon as you enter the room, the first thing that catches your eye is the breathtaking ocean view stretching across the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Step out onto the balcony, settle into the spacious sofa, and take in panoramic views of the sea stretching out before you. Surrounded by an unobstructed view and a pleasant sea breeze, you can fully enjoy the scenery that changes its expression depending on the time of day.
The spacious room layout is also a highlight, allowing you to soak in the sense of openness unique to a resort even while indoors. The room can accommodate up to six guests. The beds are generously sized, with a double bed on the lower level and a single bed on the upper level, making it a comfortable environment for families or larger groups to enjoy their stay together.
Next to the beds, there is a small storage shelf, which is convenient for placing small items. You can keep things like your smartphone or accessories within easy reach. Additionally, both the upper and lower beds are equipped with outlets and lighting control panels at the headboard. Not only can you turn the lights on and off, but you can also adjust the brightness, so if you don't want to turn the lights off completely, you can set them to about half brightness.
A Spacious Room Perfect for Group or Family Trips
The entrance area is also designed to be spacious, so even if you stay with the maximum of six people in the "Standard Bunk" room, you won't have trouble finding space for your shoes. There is ample shoe storage as well. The room is spacious enough to open multiple suitcases comfortably, with enough space for around eight to ten large 29- to 30-inch suitcases. This is one of the reasons why this accommodation is recommended for long stays, as you are unlikely to feel stressed.
The room features double sinks and two mirrors, making it easy for families or groups of friends to get ready at the same time in the morning. There are also six hooks for hanging items, making efficient use of the space and ensuring a comfortable stay with thoughtful details.
The bathroom features a simple design and is very spacious, with a large bathtub. The overall space is relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. A security box is also provided, so you can safely store your valuables.
Equipped with a Kitchen for Long-Term Stays
The room comes with a bar counter and a fully equipped kitchenette. Although compact, the kitchenette includes a microwave, sink, and everything you need for cooking. With pots, cooking utensils, and tableware all provided, you can even try your hand at full-scale cooking. Why not try preparing a meal using fresh local ingredients purchased in Itoshima? There is also a refrigerator, which is convenient for longer stays.
Wine glasses are also provided, making it easy to enjoy local delicacies and souvenirs with drinks purchased from the hotel shop. You can also easily brew the hotel's complimentary drip coffee by simply adding hot water.
Fully Equipped Amenities
The guest rooms are thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable resort stay, including a wide range of amenities. The hotel provides unisex two-piece loungewear, and bathrobes are also available. Since you can wear them when moving to the pool or sauna area, you can spend your time in the hotel even more comfortably. Storage space is also well designed, with plenty of hangers provided. You can hang swimsuits or activity wear, making it ideal for a seaside resort stay. Furthermore, the bathroom features a large bathtub. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, making the space easy to use even for groups or families.
The hotel also pays close attention to its amenities. Toothbrushes and hairbrushes are unified in wood, giving a natural and high-quality feel. In addition, items such as eye masks, earplugs, and body towels are provided to help you relax and recharge during your stay.
The skincare kit includes cleansing oil, face wash, toner, and emulsion, as well as cotton pads and cotton swabs. Each item is individually packaged for hygiene.
Comfort Unique to a Smart Hotel, Easy for International Travelers
At "seven x seven Itoshima," the latest smart system has been introduced to ensure a smooth process from check-in to entering your guest room. Not only for international travelers who may feel anxious about language or procedures, but also for those visiting Japan for the first time, making it easy even for first-time visitors to Japan.
The check-in system utilizes QR codes. Once you complete pre-registration, a dedicated QR code is issued, which can also be used as your room key. Since you can enter your room with just your smartphone, there is no need to carry a physical key or card key, allowing for a more convenient stay. The guest room air conditioning system supports English, Chinese, and Japanese. With a touch panel, you can easily adjust the airflow direction and switch between cooling, heating, and ventilation.
Compared to other hotels, the rooms also feature plenty of power outlets, so even if you are staying with several people, you can use them without stress. In addition to the standard Japanese outlets, USB ports and Type-C ports are also available. Making it easy to charge multiple devices at once, such as smartphones and tablets at the same time is a welcome feature for international travelers.
*When using USB or Type-C ports directly, most devices such as smartphones are compatible, but some electrical appliances may have voltage issues. Please be aware of this.
Additionally, the guest rooms are equipped with large TVs that allow you to enjoy streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix. Thoughtful touches can be found throughout the room, including BALMUDA speakers, a stylish humidifier, and natural Mt. Fuji spring water stocked in the refrigerator. Not only can you enjoy the view of the sea, but you can also spend a comfortable and relaxing time in your room.
Of course, WiFi is also available. Simply scan the QR code to connect.
A Restaurant Experience Savoring the Blessings and Scenic Beauty of Itoshima
One of the highlights of the renovation is the restaurant experience, where you can enjoy exceptional cuisine alongside breathtaking ocean views. The all-day dining, open from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, allows you to experience the rich food culture of Itoshima throughout the day.
The menu is supervised by Chef Mawatari, owner-chef of the popular local bistro "klootch" in Itoshima, known for its creative cuisine. The menu is themed around "Elements," inspired by the natural elements that shape Itoshima's ingredients and flavors. The signature tapas express ingredients and seasonings nurtured in Itoshima, inspired by natural elements such as "Fire," "Water," and "Earth."
Among the offerings, the highly recommended "Tastes of Element Flavor Set" (6,600 yen), consisting of four tapas plates, stands out. You can savor the unique flavors of Itoshima while appreciating the story behind each dish.
After your meal, unwind at the in-house bar. In addition to cocktails and mocktails supervised by bartender Mr. Nomura, who runs "The Certain Bar" in Kitakyushu, you can also enjoy sake selected by the local Kawakubo Sake Shop. You can also enjoy pairings of carefully selected sake, mainly from Kyushu, with your meal.
What further enhances the appeal of this restaurant is the panoramic ocean view right before your eyes. Especially at sunset, you can enjoy your meal while watching the sun sink into the sea, making for a truly luxurious Itoshima experience. There are also several restaurants nearby, so it's recommended to visit the bar alone after dining out.
For breakfast, be sure to try the terrace seating. Choose from four Japanese and Western-style breakfast options, including a selection of breads in partnership with a local bakery or a grilled salmon set meal, all accompanied by a salad bar for a satisfying start to your day. The early morning hours around 7:00 a.m. are especially pleasant and cool, allowing you to begin your day while gazing out at the tranquil sea.
Enjoy a Unique Itoshima Resort Experience with Sauna, Pool, and Bonfire
The newly established sauna and pool area is a highlight that makes your stay at "seven x seven Itoshima" even more special.
The sauna features a HARVIA stove, a world-renowned sauna brand. In this authentic Finnish-style sauna, set at 85–90°C, you can work up a good sweat. After warming your body in the sauna, cool down in the pool. Refresh both body and mind as you gaze out at the Itoshima sea stretching before you.
The area is designed to seamlessly connect with the open lounge and terrace. You can move freely between the sauna, the pool, and the lounge at your own pace, enjoying your stay in a style that matches your mood for the day.
The terrace is also equipped with spacious daybeds for you to unwind. Especially at sunset, you can enjoy the unique beauty of Itoshima as the sky and sea are dyed orange by the sun setting over the ocean.
After the sun goes down, head to the outdoor bonfire area. Spend a quiet moment gazing at the flickering flames. Enjoy the sense of openness by the sea during the day, and relax by the bonfire or at the bar at night. The changing scenery and atmosphere throughout the day are part of the unique charm of this hotel.
