Room Report! How Spacious Are the Rooms and What About the Interior?
Spacious “Superior Room”
The “Superior Room,” featuring a spacious sofa, is characterized by a calming interior based on green tones. There are two sinks, making it easy to get ready even on busy mornings.
The wall art is different in each room, so even if you stay multiple times, you can enjoy a fresh and pleasant atmosphere.
What we especially want you to notice are the curtains and the cushions on the bed, which are decorated with patterns inspired by “Yukitsuri.”
“Yukitsuri” is a traditional technique used to protect tree branches from breaking under the weight of snow, applied to trees with the arrival of winter. In the Hokuriku region, especially in Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui, where heavy, wet snow is common, this wisdom has developed to protect garden trees. The “Yukitsuri” at Kenrokuen Garden is particularly famous for its beauty.

During the hours when sunlight streams in, shadows in the shape of the yukitsuri pattern appear inside the room, making it look even more beautiful.
In the guest rooms, you will find a Kutani ware (谷焼 / Kutani-yaki) soba choko decorated with Kanazawa-inspired motifs such as the “Tsuzumi-mon” at the east exit of Kanazawa Station and the traditional good luck charm “Okiagari Koboshi,” along with complimentary sencha tea amenities.
The “Tsuzumi-mon” is designed after the tsuzumi drum used in the traditional performing art Kaga Hosho Noh. Its unique shape resembles two drums joined together. The design embodies the idea of welcoming people with the “sound of the drum,” expressing hospitality to visitors. The wooden gate, standing 13.7 meters tall and 24 meters wide, is truly impressive in its grandeur.
Recommended for Business Travelers: “Queen Room”
The “Queen Room,” recommended for both solo and duo travelers, features one double bed. The space is comfortable, with bright orange cushions that catch the eye.
The spacious work area is convenient not only for business but also for meals. It is also ideal for long-term stays.
There is space under the bed to store your suitcase, allowing you to make the most of the room’s space.
The bathroom and toilet are separate, just like in the Superior Room, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. Shampoo, body soap, and other toiletries are also provided.
The washroom is fully equipped with towels, hand soap, face soap, a hair dryer, and other necessary amenities.
There is also a two-piece set of roomwear and slippers, featuring a cute “OMO” logo on the chest, so you can relax even more during your stay in the room.
About the Amenities
Amenities are set up in front of the elevator on the first floor, and guests can take as much as they need in a self-service style. Body towels, toothbrushes, cotton pads, cotton swabs, combs, razors, and more are available.

Starting from October 2025, new breakfast menu options are available at "OMO Café & Bar" on the first floor. You can choose from three types: a rich and flavorful Croque Monsieur, a classic American breakfast set with buttered toast or croissant, and Dashi Chazuke, a savory rice dish with broth.
After choosing your main plate, soup and drinks are self-service. It is a relaxing time to enjoy gourmet dishes unique to the hotel.
About Activities
At "OMO5 Kanazawa Katamachi by Hoshino Resorts," there are two main ways to enjoy your stay: spending time in your guest room or experiencing hands-on activities at "OMO Base," and joining the original "OMO Ranger Tour," which takes you out of the hotel to explore the city.
Morning Activity: "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa Walking Tour"
Among the tours that take you out to explore the city, the "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa Walking Tour," held in the morning, is especially noteworthy. Hotel guests can participate free of charge.
Guided by the OMO Ranger, this special walking tour takes you around the "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa" and its surroundings. Carefully planned by hotel staff and museum personnel, the tour covers everything from basic information to fun facts about the museum.
While viewing the artworks, you can also hear in-depth information that is not usually available, making your trip to Kanazawa even more fulfilling.
The tour also stops by the "Rabbit Chair," a chair with rabbit ear motifs that is often posted on social media. It is a perfect photo spot, so be sure to sit down and enjoy taking a commemorative photo.
The "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa" also features a library, café restaurant, and shop. In addition to the exhibits, beautiful designs can be found throughout these facilities, allowing you to spend time that stimulates your senses.
Only those who participate in the morning "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa Walking Tour" will receive the "Kanazawa OMOshiro Tabi Map," which is packed with tips to help you enjoy sightseeing in Kanazawa even more. Take advantage of this early morning privilege and be sure to use it as a reference.
Night Activity: "Kanazawa KOGEI Night Salon"
While experiencing the vibrant energy of contemporary art is a wonderful way to discover the charm of Kanazawa, for those who wish to appreciate its atmosphere and depth, we recommend joining the “Kanazawa KOGEI Night Salon” held in the evening at the first-floor “OMO Café & Bar.” Participation is also free of charge.
The “Kanazawa KOGEI Night Salon” is an event where you can enjoy Kaga Bocha, a traditional tea from Kanazawa, while listening to explanations from the hotel staff. After a day of sightseeing, you may find yourself drawn in by the aroma of Kaga Bocha as you return to the hotel.
Traditional crafts such as “Kaga Mizuhiki” and “Kanazawa Gold Leaf” are used in the interior decorations, creating a soothing nighttime atmosphere. The appearance changes depending on where you sit, so try to find your favorite spot where you can relax in comfort.
The seating is designed based on the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi,” expressing a sense of materiality and artistry, allowing you to experience the high level of craftsmanship up close.
The Kaga Bocha is brewed right in front of you by hotel staff who have learned the proper brewing techniques from long-established tea shops. The friendly, homey atmosphere is also appealing, as the staff are happy to answer any questions you may have.
You can choose from Kanazawa’s seasonal tea snacks, which change in design throughout the year, and enjoy them paired with freshly brewed tea.
Two types of tea are served, including Kaga Bocha. By tasting and comparing the teas, you can enjoy the differences in color, aroma, and flavor that come from the roasting time—light or dark roast—and the parts of the tea leaves used. The selection changes daily, and the tea snacks are also updated in design and flavor to match the season.
Starting from December 2025, a paid experience will also be available where you can brew your own tea. You can select one type of tea leaf from five varieties and carefully brew it under the guidance of the hotel staff.
For the tea utensils, traditional Kanazawa crafts such as “Kutani Ware,” “Wajima Lacquerware,” and “Kiri Woodcraft” are used, making them perfect for enjoying tea and sweets. By seeing and using these crafts up close, you can discover new charms of traditional craftsmanship, bringing even more satisfaction and learning to your night in Kanazawa.
Also, the Japanese tea specialty shop "Nodaya Chaten," which makes Kaga Bocha served at the "Kanazawa KOGEI Night Salon," is a long-established store founded in 1859 (Ansei 6). It is located in the same Tatemachi Shopping Street as the hotel "OMO5 Kanazawa Katamachi by Hoshino Resorts," and is about a 3-minute walk away. If you become interested in "Nodaya Chaten" through your experience, be sure to visit the shop as well.
The parfait made with Kaga Bocha soft serve is also popular, but the sweets made with matcha are also highly recommended for their traditional Japanese flavor. Enjoying a cup of tea while gazing at the courtyard is truly relaxing.
Evening Activity: "Kanazawa Katamachi Ajiwaimasshi Stroll"
In addition to the activities introduced so far, if you join the evening "Kanazawa Katamachi Ajiwaimasshi Stroll" guided by the OMO Rangers, who know the city inside out, you are sure to become a Kanazawa master. There is a fee for purchasing products at the shops you visit, but participation in the tour itself is free.
During the "Kanazawa Katamachi Ajiwaimasshi Stroll," you can hear a variety of stories, such as the roots of Kanazawa's food culture, the connection between food and traditional crafts, and staff-recommended dining spots.
Furthermore, the time spent touring some of Kanazawa's 55 water channels and its historic streets with the OMO Rangers will stimulate your intellectual curiosity. If you feel like "I want to hear more" or "I want to enjoy a meal here," you are free to leave the tour at any point, which is another great feature.
During the "Kanazawa Katamachi Ajiwaimasshi Stroll," you will stop by "Sakakobo Tarou," a shop that offers modern Japanese sweets that respect traditional wagashi while incorporating Western ingredients and techniques.
With the tour-exclusive sweets tasting set, you can enjoy a bite each of classic yokan and original confections, paired with tea. If you find something you like, you can purchase it on the spot, making it easy to pick up a Kanazawa souvenir.
