This time, "FUN! JAPAN" editor actually stayed at the "South Gate Twin" room located on the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'".
The extraordinary stay begins the moment you step onto the floor from the elevator. The refreshing scent of the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" is a blend of essential oils of lemon and lavender, which are specialties of the Setouchi. The entire floor is enveloped in a subtle aroma, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the guest room is the large window. The room we stayed in was on the east side of the floor, and we could see the streetcar running on the newly opened "Ekimae Ohashi Route".
The table by the window is large enough to put two laptops on it. At night, it is perfect for relaxing while looking at the night view.
The walls are decorated with paintings depicting the Seto Inland Sea by artist Yoichiro Masuda, with vibrant blue colors adding striking accents.
The bathroom is a separate type with a toilet, bathtub, and washbasin all separate from each other. Apparently this was implemented in response to requests from guests. It's a nice feature to be able to use the facilities in a relaxed atmosphere without having to worry about the people you're staying with.
In addition, each guest room on the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" offers a "Setouchi Lemon Bath Salt" as a bonus. One of the things we were looking forward to was one of Hiroshima's specialties, "Anagogohan" (Conger Eel Rice). It's quite a luxury to be able to taste Anagogohan in the morning. The fact that it is served in a small bowl is also perfect for a buffet style where you want to enjoy a lot of different types little by little. So if it is not enough, simply ask for a refill! The plump flesh was intertwined with sweet and spicy sauce, and we couldn't help but get a refill.
Another thing worth noting is the "Seafood Marche". Fresh seafood such as salmon, shrimp, and mussels are squeezed with Setouchi lemon. The refreshing acidity of the lemon brings out the delicious flavor of the ingredients, which is also exquisite.
For bread lovers, there is a wide variety of breads baked by the in-house boulanger. The fragrant croissants and Danish pastry all looked delicious and we were fascinated.
At the "Live Kitchen Corner", the chef will cook "Roast Beef" and "Wagyu Sukiyaki Umishima Style" right in front of you, making you feel luxurious from the morning.
And what surprised us was that Japanese sake was available. Being able to enjoy alcohol from the morning really makes you feel like you're in Europe, doesn't it? It really put us in the mood of being on a trip.
