Directly Above Hiroshima Station! Excellent Access to "Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate"

Entrance

The main attractive point of "Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate" is that it is located directly above JR Hiroshima Station. You can go from the Shinkansen exit or the ticket gates of conventional lines without getting wet in the rain outside, so you can check in without stress even if you have a suitcase.

In addition, the hotel entrance is right in front of Hiroshima Station on Hiroshima Electric Railway's new line, the "Ekimae Ohashi Route", which opened on August 3, 2025, making travel to various parts of the city much smoother.

For example, the nearest stations to the World Heritage Sites "Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome)", "Hiroshima Castle", and "Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima" stadium are about 15 minutes by streetcar, and about 30 minutes by JR Sanyo Main Line to Miyajimaguchi, providing excellent access to major tourist spots. From city tours to day trips, you can enjoy them efficiently with this hotel as your accommodation.

In addition, since it is directly connected to the commercial facilities of the station building "minamoa", so you will have no trouble finding shopping and restaurants.

Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate has a total of 380 rooms. Every room has separate bathroom and toilet inside, as well as air purifier with humidification functions and high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The guest rooms are divided into two main floors.

Standard Floor (9th to 19th floor)

Standard Floor

The "Standard Floor" spreads from the 9th to the 19th floor. The hotel has standard rooms that are easy to use as an accommodation base for business trip and sightseeing. The calm design makes you feel the warmth of wood, combining functionality and comfort.

In addition, the "Superior Twin (Universal)", which adopts a universal design, has an electric bed and can accommodate guests of all generations.

Concept Floor "Setouchi" (20th to 21st floor)

Concept Floor Setouchi

The "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" located on the 20th and 21st floors is especially recommended. Located 80 meters above the ground, the rooms offer views of Hiroshima City and the Seto Inland Sea in the distance, providing a high-quality stay.

The walls of the guest rooms are decorated with artwork by artist Yoichiro Masuda, themed on the Seto Inland Sea, and the vibrant blue accents add a touch of class to the space. There is also the "South Gate Triple" which can accommodate up to four people, making it suitable for a wide range of guests, from couples to families.

Special room on the top floor "South Gate Station Suite"

South Gate Station Suite

The "South Gate Station Suite" on the top 21st floor is a special room with a panoramic view of Hiroshima City. The luxurious design, with separate living space and bedroom, makes it perfect for special occasions or anniversary trips.

Accommodation Report of "South Gate Twin"! How Does the Room and the View Look Like?

サウスゲートツイン

This time, "FUN! JAPAN" editor actually stayed at the "South Gate Twin" room located on the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'".

The extraordinary stay begins the moment you step onto the floor from the elevator. The refreshing scent of the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" is a blend of essential oils of lemon and lavender, which are specialties of the Setouchi. The entire floor is enveloped in a subtle aroma, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Ekimae Ohashi Route

The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the guest room is the large window. The room we stayed in was on the east side of the floor, and we could see the streetcar running on the newly opened "Ekimae Ohashi Route".

By the window

The table by the window is large enough to put two laptops on it. At night, it is perfect for relaxing while looking at the night view.

Painting

The walls are decorated with paintings depicting the Seto Inland Sea by artist Yoichiro Masuda, with vibrant blue colors adding striking accents.

bathroom

The bathroom is a separate type with a toilet, bathtub, and washbasin all separate from each other. Apparently this was implemented in response to requests from guests. It's a nice feature to be able to use the facilities in a relaxed atmosphere without having to worry about the people you're staying with.

Setouchi Lemon Bath Salt

In addition, each guest room on the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" offers a "Setouchi Lemon Bath Salt" as a bonus. It is made from 100% natural ingredients, and when added to the bathtub, it releases a slightly sweet and sour scent that is different from the aroma wafting from the floor, making your relaxation time even more luxurious.

Enjoyment After Check-In: "Free Flow Service"

Café&Buffet UmiShima Dining

A benefit that can only be used by guests staying on the "Concept Floor 'Setouchi'" is the Free Flow Service provided at the restaurant "Café & Buffet UmiShima Dining" on the 7th floor.

アルコール類

Between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, soft drinks such as coffee and tea are available, as well as alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and sake, which can be enjoyed alongside cakes and light snacks.

With a full four hours of fun, there are many different ways to use the facility, such as taking a break right after checking in, returning from sightseeing a little early to relax, or enjoying a drink before dinner.

Breakfast is a Buffet Where You Can Enjoy the Setouchi Flavors

Menu

The long-awaited breakfast is a luxurious buffet-style meal made with an abundance of ingredients from the Setouchi. Just like the "Free Flow Service", it is served at the restaurant "Café & Buffet UmiShima Dining" on the 7th floor.

Conger Eel Rice

One of the things we were looking forward to was one of Hiroshima's specialties, "Anagogohan" (Conger Eel Rice). It's quite a luxury to be able to taste Anagogohan in the morning. The fact that it is served in a small bowl is also perfect for a buffet style where you want to enjoy a lot of different types little by little. So if it is not enough, simply ask for a refill! The plump flesh was intertwined with sweet and spicy sauce, and we couldn't help but get a refill.

Seafood Marche

Another thing worth noting is the "Seafood Marche". Fresh seafood such as salmon, shrimp, and mussels are squeezed with Setouchi lemon. The refreshing acidity of the lemon brings out the delicious flavor of the ingredients, which is also exquisite.

Bread

Bread

For bread lovers, there is a wide variety of breads baked by the in-house boulanger. The fragrant croissants and Danish pastry all looked delicious and we were fascinated.

Live Kitchen Corner

At the "Live Kitchen Corner", the chef will cook "Roast Beef" and "Wagyu Sukiyaki Umishima Style" right in front of you, making you feel luxurious from the morning.

Japanese Sake

And what surprised us was that Japanese sake was available. Being able to enjoy alcohol from the morning really makes you feel like you're in Europe, doesn't it? It really put us in the mood of being on a trip.

Convenient Services such as Automatic Check-in and Self-locker

Automatic Check-in

Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate is committed to providing services that allow guests to "enjoy a trip that is uniquely their own."

The first thing you'll be happy about is the automatic check-in machine, which allows you to complete the check-in process smoothly without having to wait in line at the front desk, allowing you to make the most of your time after arrival.

Self-lockers

"Self-locker" is also convenient for those who want to move around lightly while sightseeing or on business. They can be used before check-in or after check-out, allowing you to take your luggage in and out at your own pace.

weighting scale

Furthermore, there is a scale installed in the corner of the self-locker to weigh your luggage, which is a thoughtful touch. There is also a foreign currency exchange machine in the building, which is convenient for tourists from overseas.
