What is "Nijigen no Mori" on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture?
Nijigen no Mori is located within "Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park," a natural park on Awaji Island. Scattered across the vast grounds are permanent, hands-on attraction areas that blend nature with digital technology. Through various attractions based on the worlds of anime and games, visitors can feel like they’ve entered their favorite stories. There are also limited-time collaboration events that change periodically. In 2025, the park will be hosting a collaboration event with the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." There are also shops and restaurants throughout the park selling original merchandise and souvenirs related to the featured works. Additionally, the park offers 23 villa-style accommodations, some with collaboration rooms themed after popular characters. It’s a must-visit destination not only for anime and game fans but also for families with children, friends, and couples—people of all ages can enjoy it.

Since Nijigen no Mori is part of Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park, admission to the park itself is free. You’ll need to buy tickets to experience the attractions, but some of the attractions can be viewed from outside their designated areas. For example, feel free to take photos with the impressive life-size Godzilla!
That said, if you’re going to make the trip, why not dive into the anime and game worlds and experience them like a protagonist? Each themed area has multiple attractions, and there are many ticket options available, so you can simply buy tickets for the ones you’re interested in. Some attractions can be enjoyed solo, but playing with a group of three or four can also be fun! Just note that some attractions have height and weight restrictions, so be sure to check in advance.
Enjoy the great outdoors at a Japanese park

Nijigen no Mori spans approximately 1,348,000 square meters (roughly the size of 28 Tokyo Domes) and is surrounded by nature, allowing visitors to enjoy the seasonal beauty of cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, and more. The ability to appreciate Japan’s natural beauty while immersed in anime worlds is one of the park’s charms. The park also features free playgrounds like grassy areas and slides for children to enjoy.

The observation deck at the top of the hill is also a popular scenic spot. From the terrace seats at the restaurant "Mori no Terrace", located right in front of the large grassy field, you can enjoy collaboration-themed food while watching the sunset! How romantic. At night, the park has very little light pollution, offering a stunning view of a star-filled sky for a truly magical stargazing experience.

While the attractions are within walking distance of each other, getting around can require some energy and time. If you want to fully experience everything, consider either a full-day trip from opening until around 5 or 6 PM, or staying overnight to enjoy the park at a slower pace over two days.
Let’s now take a look at each attraction, how to enjoy them, and how much time you’ll need. Plan ahead for an efficient visit!

Some of the villas have been specially designed as collaboration rooms with popular characters. These rooms are so popular that they can be fully booked up to six months in advance, so early reservations are highly recommended—weekday stays tend to be easier to reserve.

This time, we covered two special collaboration rooms themed after Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The first is the “Cocoon of Bonds” (max capacity: 3 guests), themed after the four main characters—Tanjiro Kamado and friends—and designed with inspiration from the Butterfly Mansion. Look closely and you’ll even spot Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira on the ceiling! It’s a playful and charming detail.

The second is the “Cocoon of the Hashira” (max capacity: 2 guests), designed around the nine Hashira. The bedroom is inspired by the Hashira meeting, with iconic scenes and life-sized replicas of Nichirin Swords displayed on the walls. A must-stay room for any Hashira fan!
