First floor of the house is the boat garage, second floor is the dwelling space, unique concept of building.
Since they are located very close to the sea, when viewed from the sea, it looks as if almost floating in the sea.

~Sake brewery with 260 years of history~ (Meeting Mukai Brewery female director - Chokeiji Kuniko) -
City of Ine, often appeared in Japanese drama, is place known for its boat house or funaya. First floor of the house is the boat garage, second floor is the dwelling space. To see the scenery of funaya, it is highly recommended not to come by car, by to see them from the sea. We chartered a motorboat, and went to the sake brewery that faces the sea in this area, "Mukai Brewery." facing the sea. The female brewer master, Kuniko-san greeted us with a smile.

The storehouse has extensive history. Although it is small, they are proud of the quality of the product. Each of brewer work here is in charge of their own specialty. Here everybody creates liquor with a good care as if raising their own child. The source of inspiration for Kuniko and the brewers is the drop of "Spring of Kyoto".

Bathed in light of the sun, while watching shimmering surface of water, full of "Spring of Kyoto". Beside delicious sake, you can also enjoy heshiko - traditional preserved food in Ine. With bran attached to the dish, Kuniko-san roast the dish in the burner, aroma tickles the nose. Both of sake and heshiko are fermented food. Both suits each other in the mouth, double the eating joy.

In addition to heshiko, you can also enjoy miso, small fish, oil sardine made by local housewives, and garnish utilizing unique taste of rice, everything suits “Spring of Kyoto”. Hearing Kuniko's full-of-love story sake, time flies while we enjoy the meal.
