Hakata Station

Even if you say Hakata station shopping malls in brief, there are actually various shopping malls gathered together and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they are giant shopping malls. That name is “JR Hakata City”. It is a collection of the elements of “Buy, eat, play”, in a group of station building complexes. There is AMU Plaza Hakata and Hakata Hankyu by the Western Hakata Exit and by the Eastern Chikushi exit Hakata Deitos and AMU EST. There are other shopping facilities near Hakata exit such as Hakata Ichibangai, Ming, KITTE Hakata and JRJP Hakata. There are stores that are popular with visitors to Japan such as Marui, Tokyu Hands and 100 yen shop on one large floor, so you won’t get bored even in one whole day.

Canal City Hakata 

In this area which is around 43,500 square metres, there are shopping malls, a cinema, a theatre, amusement facilities, and 2 hotels in the complex. In the center of the of this curved and colourful complex building, there is a 180m canal flowing and at certain intervals, there is a fountain show. There are some tourist areas around the facility, so it is convenient for taking a break, having a meal after sightseeing or as accommodation during your trip

PARCO has 210 stores in total combining the main building and the new building. They have fashion, miscellaneous goods, and food. One indispensable restaurant is  “Hakata Motsunabe Oyama”, a specialty store for Motsu hot pot. And Imari beef hamburger “Kiwamiya” that you should eat even if you have to line up. If you want to eat Tonkotsu Ramen here, Ramen Jinanbo is popular.

This underground shopping mall that resembles a 19th-century European townscape is 590 metres in length. There are over 150 stores focusing on ladies fashion lined up on the two North and South streets. The shopping centre has a pathway directly connected to Tenjin Subway Station and major shopping buildings.
