About the Cupnoodles Museum in Yokohama

Instant ramen was invented by Ando Momofuku, the founder of Nisshin Food Products Co. and is a product enjoyed by people all around the world. At the Cupnoodles Museum you can learn about the history of ramen and have fun while learning more about instant ramen with Mr. Ando's exhibits and experiences through "creative thinking." You can also experience the creation process of the world's first instant ramen "Chicken Ramen" and try making it yourself from scratch at the special workshop (reservation required). Design your own cup, pick your favorite soup and toppings to create your very own cup of noodles at this remarkable workshop!

On top of that there is an indoor playground for kids and a CG animation movie about Mr. Ando's career that all can enjoy. There is also a special space with the atmosphere of Asia, where you can taste the flavors of different ramen from all over the world! (Admission required.) There is also another museum down in Osaka Prefecture, Ikeda city, the "Cupnoodles Museum Osaka Ikeda." Those visiting Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe should take the chance to visit there as well!

Hands on Experiences at the Cupnoodles Museum Yokohama

Within the museum is the "Chicken Ramen Factory" where you can try making Chicken Ramen from scratch. Knead the wheat flour, stretch the dough, steam the noodles, add seasoning, and finally dry it off to finish experience the whole manufacturing process. And of course, once the creation process is done, take your instant ramen home to enjoy!

Workshop fee: Middle school and older: 500 yen/ Elementary school: 300 yen (taxes included, separate from museum admission). Age restriction: Elementary school or older, pre-school and younger not admitted. Workshop takes place 8 times a day, with up to 48 people per session. Operating hours: 10:15~17:45 (10:15 AM~5:45 PM).  Required time: Approximately 90 minutes. Prior reservations can be made online or by phone. Reservations can be made up to 3 months in advance of requested date from 10:00 and to 18:00 of the day before. On days where there are open spaces day of, you can sign up at the 3rd floor of the Cupnoodles Museum Yokohama at the reception counter. 2 or more participants are required, and reservations by phone or internet for the same day is not available.

Access From Tokyo to Cupnoodles Museum

From the Tokyo Metropolitan area, to visit the Cup Noodles Museum go to JR Shinagawa Station and take the Tokaido Main line (17 min), get off at Yokohama Station to transfer to the Minato Mirai line to Minato Mirai Station (3 min). From Minato Mirai Station it is about an 8 minute walk.

Access From Osaka to Cupnoodles Museum

From Osaka Station take the Shinkansen bullet train to Shinagawa station. From Shinagawa Station take the Tokaido Main line (17 min) and get off at Yokohama Station to transfer to the Minato Mirai line to Minato Mirai Station (3 min). From Minato Mirai Station it is about an 8 minute walk.
