The Hakone Ropeway operates between Sounzan Station to Togendai Station, departing at one minute intervals. The Hakone Ropeway has 4 stations that it stops at: Togendai Station, Ubako Station, Owakudani Station, and Sounzan Station. The time it takes between each of the 4 stations is about 8 minutes. You can freely get on or off at each of the stations. Every station also intersects with other means of transportation, making it very convenient for transfers. The view from the Ropeway offers several different scenic views, including a look at Mount Fuji, Ashi Lake, and Owakudani Valley.

Fees for Riding the Hakone Ropeway

Hakone Ropeway business hours, between February through November are from 9:00~17:00 (9:00AM ~ 5:00PM) and between December and January from 9:00~16:15 (9:00AM~4:15PM) (Services may be suspended during bad weather or during fixed maintenance inspection times). Hakone Ropeway's Togendai Station is near the lake shore of Ashi Lake, with the start point being on the west side. This is a point of transit for many other types of transportation, including the Hakone Pirate Ship, the Odakyu Hakone High Speed Bus, and the Hakone Tozan Bus. Around the station are plenty of restaurants, shops, and other facilities. Fares for a one way ride for one adults are: 780 yen to Ubako Station, 1120 yen to Owakudani Station, and 1450 yen to Sounzan Station. For round trip fares: 1400 yen to Ubako Station, 2000 yen to Owakudani Station, and 2550 yen to Sounzan Station. Stopovers are possible.
Accessing the Hakone Ropeway

To get to Togendai Station, from JR Odawara Station transfer to the Hakone Tozan Line and get off at Hakone Yumoto Station. From there ride the Hakone Tozan Bus (approx. 45 minutes) to Togendai Station.
