The 2nd Day of Visit Japan Campaign! Today together with 5 fans of Fun! JAPAN, we toured Miyajima and Peace Memorial Park!

Miyajima, where Itsukushima Shrine, one of the listed World Heritages, and Daisho-in with many small Jizo and Buddhist statues are, is a famous tourist spot among the locals and foreigners. At the Peace Memorial Park, we went to the Atomic Dome which is permanently preserved to remember the history of atomic bomb and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum to acknowledge the importance of peace. Let me share with you the places where we went as well as the photos that I have taken! Also, I am going to share the Setouchi Area Pass which we used for transportation!

Itsukushima Shrine is the “beauty” of Japan

There was a 90% precipitation chance according to the weather forecast, but as expected it is a power spot! The rain stopped.

Here is the Itsukushima Shrine, the “beauty” of Japan, and all of us were so moved by the Torii built in the middle of the sea. There are many torii in Japan, but one which was built in the middle of the sea is a very rare one!

The Daisho-in is a must go!

After visiting the Itsukushima Shrine, we headed to Daisho-in.

Many visit only Itsukushima Shrine when they come to Miyajima, however it is such a waste!

In fact, the spot is very famous among the locals, and there are people who come to Miyajima just to visit the Daisho-in. Perhaps it was due to the rain forecast, there were not many tourists and we were able to spend a relaxing time here at the Daisho-in.

Small Jizo and Buddhist statues are everywhere

There are countless small Jizo and Buddhist statues in Daisho-in. The facial expression and gesture of these small Jizo are all different! Also, among the Jizo, some represent zodiacs. We tried to look for the Jizo which represent our own zodiacs. Look, the Jizo of monkey zodiac for the 3 of us, including myself!
