Seibu-en Yuenchi is an amusement park in Tokorozawa city, Saitama prefecture that is about an hour from Shinjuku. Seibu-en Yuenchi is neither big nor new, but it has seasonal attractions. So you can enjoy Seibu-en Yuenchi all year around.

Park Map

The 1-Day passport that let you enjoy all the attractions is 3,300Yen for adult and 2,800 Yen for child (3-12 years old) and senior (60+), and also there are entry-only passes that are 1,100 Yen for adult and 500 Yen for child and senior. If you would like to ride an attraction with entry-only pass, you have to buy attraction ticket at each attraction. During the illumination season, they also have night passes that are cheaper than 1-Day passes. In the park, there are special section where you need to pay extra fee like “Fishing Land” where you can enjoy fishing or “Snow Kingdom” where kids can enjoy sleighing on artificial snow.

Seibu-en Yuenchi has seasonal attractions. In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms in entire park. In summer, swimming pool would be open and fireworks are performed at night. From October to spring, you can enjoy night illuminations and Fishing Land.

Fishing Land
In front of the entrance, there is “Marchen Town” where all the attractions are decorated with Sanrio characters. All the attractions can be enjoyed by little kids. There are also character shows that Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters appear.

“Arcade Street” has a lot of food shops, arcade machines, gacha machines and purikura machines. Arcade Street is covered with roof so you do not need worry about the rain.

Food is also worth mentioning in Seibu-en Yuenchi. There are a lot of food shops and food trucks throughout the park. “Mochi-Mochi Potate” (500 Yen original salt, 700 Yen with flavor) is my favorite.

Because it was so cold when I went there, Motsu-ni (500 Yen) was so yummy and kept my body warm.

In my opinion, the ferris wheel is the “must ride” attraction. When the cart reaches the top, you can see “Tama Lake” and if the weather is clear enough, you can even see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree.

From October to April, you can enjoy night illumination and it is just fantastic. This year, their theme is “World Expo Night” so they also have food menus imaging on the theme.

The illuminations got an “Illumination Award”, and I am sure everyone would like it. It is so hard to explain how wonderful it is with words. I just would like you to come and watch it.

When you visit Seibu-en Yuenchi, make sure you have enough cash with you because there is not ATM in the park. I had to walk more than 10 minutes for nearest ATM outside the park to get cash, so be careful!
Seibu-en Yuenchi is not that popular theme park like Disney or Universal Studios, but it is not so crowded and there are a lot of attractions that little kids enjoy. If you are tired with popular crowded spots, Seibu-en Yuenchi is one of the best options for you.
