Of course, the instant food itself is already delicious yet if you want something different and original while enjoying the easy process of these products, we are here to help. Today, we will combine two of Muji’s best seller dessert recipes- the Tiramisu & the Hojicha Latte to make our original Hojicha Pudding!
How to Use MUJI’s Handmade Dessert Kit
Go to MUJI and buy 2 things
You need the Hojicha Latte Powder (380 Yen) and Handmade Tiramisu Kit (400 Yen) from Muji.
There are two packages inside the Homemade Tiramisu Kit: the tiramisu mix (big package) and the cocoa powder (small package).
You need the following ingredients for this recipe:
- Milk
- Hojicha tea leaf (Optional)
Now let’s get started!
First, heat up the milk
First heat up the milk to body temperature and make sure not to boil it. Now, here is the trick. Since this is a hojicha pudding, and we want a deeper flavor of the tea itself, we will infuse the milk with hojicha.
Simply pack a tea bag with some hojicha tea leaves drop it into the pot while the milk is warming up.
Infusion of hojicha will bring in color into the milk, turning into a slightly greyish colour. More heat will of course quicken the process of infused but once again, make sure not to boil the milk.
Mix the Tiramisu and Hojicha Latter powder
Meantime, pour in the tiramisu mixture into a mixing bowl, along with two table spoon of Hojicha Latte Powder to bring up the tea flavour. Since the latte powder is sweetened, be careful with the amont you add. If you want the pudding to be less sweet, then you can add only half of a tablespoon to 1 tablespoon instead.
Mix the powder and the milk
Once the milk is at the ideal temperature, take out the tea bag and pour milk into the bowl and mix until the mixture becomes thicker.
After the mixture is thickened, try to mix it roughly to create air bubbles into the mixture for another 2 minutes as it gives the pudding a fluffy texture.
Pour it into a cup
Now get a container. I am using my tea cup for this TEA pudding.
Pour in the mixture halfway and sprinkle cocoa powder to create a mid-layer. It is better to use a sifter as you can control how much cocoa powder you want to add into the pudding. It also breaks down the bigger chunk of cocoa powder, giving it a more unify texture.
Chill it for 2 hours
Fill up the container with mixture. When finished, wrap it with plactic film and chill it inside the fridge for two hours or more.
After two hours, the pudding should be solid. It should be the good timing to taste it!
Decorate with cocoa powder
Top it with more cocoa powder and there you have it! Your Original Hojicha Pudding.
The whole making process took less than 20 minutes. All you have to do after the process is to put it into your fridge. The original Handmade Tiramisu is also very delicious and it is always recommended to make it as in the instruction on the packaging. But if you are curious enough to try a new recipe evolved from combining the two products Muji as in this article, please give it a try! Tell me how you arrange your recipe too in the comment.
