The first thing you notice when you step inside is the stylish and bright atmosphere. The tasteful interior is accented with vibrant colours throughout, creating a playful space. The space feels more open than its actual size would suggest, making it a comfortable place to spend time.

On the wall of the first-floor lobby lounge, there is artwork depicting popular sightseeing spots in the city, such as the Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER (formerly Nagoya TV Tower) and the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. The artwork has become a popular photo spot, so be sure to take a picture here to remember your stay at SONO Moon Nagoya.

SONO Moon Nagoya Room Review | Staying in a Superior Double Room

15 m² Superior Double Room: Size and Layout

SONO Moon Nagoya Key Card

The room I stayed in was a 15 m² Superior Double Room. It is a compact yet functional guest room equipped with a double bed and a work desk. Whether you want to take a break between sightseeing or get some work done at the desk, you can relax comfortably in a way that suits your travel style.

The guest room is decorated with art inspired by Nagoya and features a simple interior in calm tones.

Room Facilities: Desk, Sofa, Refrigerator, and More

The room is also equipped with a desk and a sofa, allowing you to use each space for a different purpose—working at the desk or relaxing on the sofa, for example. (Some rooms may not have a sofa but instead feature a larger desk.)

While offering the functionality typical of an urban hotel, the room also provides a calm atmosphere where you can relax at your own pace.

The room makes good use of wall space, with an LCD TV, hangers and slippers, as well as a refrigerator, electric kettle and mugs.

Power Outlets, USB Ports, and Wi-Fi Environment

The Superior Double Room had about eight power outlets throughout the room, including by the bedside. There are USB ports and Type A power outlets, which are commonly used in Japan. If your plugs are a different type, it’s a good idea to bring a travel adaptor.

Unit Bath and Hair Dryer Usability

The bathroom is a combined bath and toilet, with both in one space. The bathtub is wide, providing plenty of room for one person to use comfortably.

The wide mirror made it easy to do my makeup. The hair dryer is made by Panasonic, a Japanese brand.

I was also able to use Wi-Fi in the guest room without any issues.

The guest room is a comfortable place to relax at your own pace and unwind after a day of travel.

Complimentary Breakfast Service for All Guests

SONO Moon Nagoya Complimentary Breakfast

One of the highlights of staying at SONO Moon Nagoya is the complimentary breakfast service available to all guests. Since breakfast is included in the standard accommodation plan, it's recommended to enjoy breakfast in the lobby lounge before heading out in the morning.

SONO Moon Nagoya Complimentary Breakfast

The breakfast includes three types of bread, jam and drinks. You can help yourself to whatever you like. If you toast the bread, it becomes even fluffier and more delicious.

What stood out was the sweet red bean paste (anko) and margarine provided as spreads for the bread. Anko-margarine (Ogura-margarine) is a local Nagoya favourite, and this option adds a distinctly local touch to the breakfast.

Please note that the types of bread and jam may change depending on the day.
