Cup Noodle Museum

Museum guide gave us thorough explanation about history of instant noodle that began with the "Chicken Ramen"

It has been around 60 years since the birth of first instant noodle in the world “Chicken Ramen". Instant noodle with all of its varieties have spread all over the world.

Chicken Ramen

In this museum, you can experience the making of "Chicken Ramen" from the very beginning: kneading the flour.

We participated in this tour and created our own original "Chicken Ramen".

Here’s the atmosphere of the experience.

First of all, we listened to the lecture. We got direction from the instructor about the process of making "Chicken Ramen"

By the way, bandana that everyone wears is Hiyoko-chan bandana, "Chicken Ramen" mascot. It’s so cute, isn’t it?

Chicken Ramen

After washing our hands, and putting Cup Noodle Museum original Chicken Ramen apron, we mixed the flour and mixing water (KANSUI water). After that, while putting a little bit of mixing water (KANSUI water) to the flour, we kneaded the dough by hand, ...,it gradually became ball-shaped.

Next, pressed firmly with the rolling pin ...

Then used the noodle machine to continue shaping the dough.

Chicken Ramen

And, this is the finished noodles dough!

For the package of "Chicken Ramen", we can also draw our own original illustrations. To ripen the dough, we rest it for a while. In the mean time, we challenged ourselves to make our own original package

Chicken Ramen

After that, we extended the dough.

Turn the handle and put the dough of the machine, the dough is stretched to thin long noodles ....

Chicken Ramen

If the noodle is thinner that one millimeter, we will cut it.

Can you see it? It looks like noodle now.

Chicken Ramen

Once the noodles cut, put it on the colander scale so that the one person can get 100g. Then, steamed for 7 minutes.

Chicken Ramen

After it was steamed, now it’s turn for seasoning.

Put seasoned hot soup noodles, stir quickly.

Chicken Ramen

Shazam! The seasoning is completed!

Seasoned noodles were put to round container…

Finally, we fried the noodles in oil.

This way of frying noodles in oil may sound normal now, thanks to the inventor of Chicken Ramen, Momofuku Ando-san, who redo the process and research over and over again to complete this process so that the taste of the noodle can be preserved well.
