This year marks the 25th anniversary of Universal Studios Japan, and to celebrate, the park will host its winter seasonal event, “Universal Holiday Wonders ~Discover U!!!~,” from Friday, November 13, 2026, to Sunday, January 17, 2027.
This winter, as we wrap up the year, the park will feature a host of exclusive seasonal entertainment, including the “Universal Food Festival,” which will be the largest in park history in both menu variety and area; the “Light Up the Night ~Christmas Celebration~,” a heartwarming spectacle of falling snow and touching stories; and the long-awaited return after nine years of the moving “Joy of Lights,” a show that lets you express feelings to your loved ones that are usually too embarrassing to say out loud. In addition, special 25th anniversary “winter gifts” will be available, such as the “Holiday Kids Free Pass,” which invites children from all over Japan to the park for free, and the “Holiday Kids Free Plan,” a hotel package where children’s accommodation fees are waived. These offerings will help families grow even closer and make this holiday season an extra special one to end the year on a “super happy” note.
The Hugely Popular Food Festival Returns Even Bigger! “Universal Food Festival”
The food festival, a must for the holiday season, will expand to its largest scale ever this year, both in menu selection and area! Throughout the park, you’ll find special holiday-themed menus at restaurants decorated just for the season, character-inspired dishes, and a variety of street food you can enjoy on the go. Savor your favorite dishes with your family and enjoy a “super happy” time that will fill both your heart and your stomach.
What’s more, this year, Snoopy, Elmo, and other beloved characters will make surprise appearances in the food festival areas for special greetings! Enjoy delicious holiday treats while meeting your favorite park friends in their adorable holiday outfits—a unique dining experience that will bring smiles to everyone’s faces and bring your family even closer together.
*Participating restaurants will be announced at a later date.
A Grand Winter Night Show That Warms the Heart: “Light Up the Night ~Christmas Celebration~”
Elmo, Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and other park friends dressed in colorful winter costumes, along with adorable Snow People and entertainers, will deliver the “ultimate present” in this spectacular night show. The show features heartwarming stories told through powerful holiday songs that will move you to your core. Join in as the lights are illuminated, feel your heart warmed by the snow falling like a blanket over the night sky, and share a moment of happiness and warmth with your loved ones.
*The number of performances varies by day. Please check the official website for details.
The Heartfelt Show Returns After 9 Years! “Joy of Lights” – Express Your Feelings to Those Who Matter Most
The moving message show, where you can express your feelings for someone special—feelings that are usually too embarrassing to say out loud—through beautiful lights and melodies projected onto the screen, is back with a brand-new look! As part of the “Discover USJ” program, which looks back on 25 years of the park and rediscovers the power of entertainment (one of the two meanings behind the 25th anniversary theme “Discover U!!!”), this show will be held for the first time in nine years. Heartfelt messages from our guests will fill Gramercy Park with deep emotion. And at the climax of the show, snow will gently fall, transforming all of Gramercy Park into a magical holiday wonderland. Enjoy a special moment that will bring you and your loved ones even closer together.
