From Ningyocho station to Suitengumae station, there is a small alley approximately of 400 meter long called “Amazake Yokocho”.
The word “Amazake” sounds familiar to you? It is a Japanese traditional drink that is made from rice, kind of like sake but non-alcohol drink.
The street is named after an amazake shop that used to be there at an entrance of the street hundreds of years ago.
You can still feel an atmosphere of Japanese old-style life nowadays.

There are many different retro shops along the street such as, ningyo yaki (Japanese sweets), rice crackers, sushi rolls, tofu and many more.
I recommend to go there with an empty stomach, because it is fun to munch on as you walk around.

If you were a fan of Taiyaki, you are going to be thrilled.
They make Taiyaki one by one at the time, and you can see how he is making them right in front you.
You would often see a number of people lined up, but it won’t be that long to wait. Perhaps 10 minutes the most. Totally worth waiting for!
Other than foods, there are shops for Japanese purse, Japanese traditional instrument called shamisen and more.
Visit there and Experience the atmosphere of the old downtown of Tokyo.
