What is “Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion?”

Japan is well known for having popular shows that feature everyday objects transforming into battle ready robots. Debuting on March 16, 2015, Takara TOMY introduced a series of robots featuring their Plarail toy trains. Starting in January 6, 2018, they began broadcasting a show under the title of ““Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION.” The story is that these robots are part of a secret organization. This organization’s goal is to protect Japan’s peace and security from unknown evil forces. The organization is called the Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute. It is located in the basement of a railway museum and produces the “Shikkoku Shinkansen.” They find children that have a high compatibility rate with the Shinkalions and work together to confront mighty enemies.

This toy takes advantage of the high functionality of the real-life Shinkansen E6 Komachi, the Shinkalion E6 Komachi is known for being on the fastest on the ground. You can also run through places with many obstacles using wheels in the legs. The main draw is the high speed but this toy also uses an accessory that can shoot, using the “Fumi Kirigan” to accurately aim at enemies. The “Fumi Kirigan” can be switched between one of three modes, normal, rifle, and canon modes.

The Shinkalion E3 Tsubasa Iron Wing was developed looking at the Shinkansen E3 series. It boasts various colors and unique patters. He is good at complex and strange battles and is also known as the Ninja Shinkalion. His weapon is the “Shinfumi Kiri Shiriken,” and when you deploy the middle car, it transforms into an arsenal.
