Over the next 1 year until March 2019, we are going to share information about the famous large scale even “World Masters Games 2021 Kansai” which will be held in Kansai, Japan, as well as the tourist information about Kansai area.
Today, we are going to introduce the 3 major international sport events in Japan which will be held over the coming 3 years!
First, in 2019, Rugby World Cup 2019™ will be held in 12 cities in Japan!
The event will take place nationwide, including Tokyo, Yokohama, Sapporo and Fukuoka.
The Rugby World Cup 2019™ which is held once every 4 years, will be held for about 7 weeks, and is one of the world’s three major sport events, on par with Olympics and World Cup.
This is the first time it is held in Asia, outside of the traditional rugby countries. And it is the ever first tournament since the rugby (7-player system) is listed in the Olympics!
Then, the other which has already shown sign of excitement all over the world is the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
This is the 2nd time Olympic is held in Tokyo after 56 years since 1964 and the first in Asia where the game is held for the 2nd time in the same city.
There will be 33 sports and 339 events, the additional sports in Tokyo Olympics are softball/baseball, karate, skateboarding, sports climbing and surfing.
Perhaps some of you are looking forward to watching the Tokyo Olympics? You can do it together with a sightseeing in Tokyo. For sure it further increases the interest in Japan.
And then in 2021, there will be the World Masters Games, the first time to be held in Asia!
The charm of this events is that sports lovers aged 30 years old and above from all over the world can participate in this event. Also, compared to Rugby World Cup 2019™ and Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics that can only be “watched”, this World Masters Games is one that can be “played”!
There is no pre-game, and it is OK to take part in several events! Regardless of professional or amateur, anyone can take part and is possible for winning!! The events are held based on age, so medals are awarded by gender and age group.
