How often do you cut your nails?
Have you seen your parents cutting their nails with nail clippers in one hand and a magnifying glass in the other?
Or, are you struggling to cut your nails because you can’t see exactly where you’re cutting?

To find your answer, head to the fun Motomachi Arcade (元町商店街, Motomachi-shotengai) in Kobe.
Kobe, a beautiful and idyllic port town, neighbours Osaka.
There are direct buses from Kansai International Airport (KIX), the hub airport of Western Japan.
Very convenient!

The shop you’re looking for is Kireaji-no-ie (切味乃家).
This literally translates to “the house of things that cut well” – so promising isn’t it!
The shop specialises in knives, metal ware, scissors, and nail clippers.
The nail clippers in the photo are excellent for two reasons.
Firstly, it has a magnifying glass attached!
This allows you to see clearly while you’re cutting your precious nails.
Secondly, the metal is sharp and creates a clean cut along your nails.
This keeps your nails very beautiful!

The owner of the shop is also knowledgeable about knives and scissors.
Japan has a long history of high quality knives and scissors (Samurai used to carry and fight with swords, so the quality was important!).
These are also excellent gift ideas!
