Funabori Tower, one of Tokyo’s best kept that even many Japanese people don’t know about

I recently moved to a part of Tokyo called Funabori located in Edogawa City.
This area is on the edge of Tokyo near the boundary with Chiba Prefecture.
It doesn’t really feel like a city area, and it has more supermarkets than restaurants.
I decided to move here because it is popular with families that have children and it is a comfortable place to live in.

Although Funabori is a small town, it does have one landmark, called the Funabori Tower.

The tower has a height of 115 meters.
Although this is very low compared to the 634-meter height of the Sky Tree, it does offer 360-degree panoramic views of Edogawa City.
The tower building has halls of various sizes where a variety of concerts are held.
It also has facilities including a wedding hall, restaurants, and bookstores, and serves as a place for local people to relax.

I decided to go to the top.
Because of its height, I didn’t expect too much.
However, I found myself saying “wow!” at the view I saw.
Although it was a bit cloudy because I went up during the evening, the sunset was very beautiful.

The Sky Tree looked very near.
Apparently it is possible to see Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tsukuba if your go up during the morning when the sky is clear.
I am glad that I have such a nice place like this nearby my home.
I may visit again when I’m returning home from shopping or when I just want a place to go to think about things.

The best thing of all is that this beautiful view is free of charge.
While it costs over 2,000 yen to access the Sky Tree observation deck, the Funabori Tower is completely free.
Furthermore, while you often have to wait in line at the Sky Tree, there is no wait at the Funabori Tower.
I’m glad to have such a nice place close to where I live.
