Another dessert time!! The Mount Fuji Strawberry Kakigoori!!
I have been introducing all kinds of Kakigoori ( Japanese shaved ice ) all the time and still , not getting bored of it. =P
Whenever the weather turns hot, people crave for cold desserts.
In Indonesia , we have Es Teler, while in Malaysia we have Ice Kacang and Cendol, and same applies to Japan, they have Kakigoori !
The sweet and cool sensation of these desserts helps calming down your anxiety and frustration caused by the hot sun!
This Kakigoori is named as the Mount Fuji Kakigoori simply because it resembles Mount Fuji.
The red part on the top is like the snow on top of Mount Fuji .
Do you think it looks like Mount Fuji??
The red colored part are strawberries and syrup while the yellow part underneath is mango and ice cream.
You can see the seeds and fleshes of the strawberry on top! Looks delicious!
And, Itadakimasu!
I don’t think any Kakigoori ever failed to impress me!
The taste of the Japanese Kakigoori is kinda different from Malaysia’s.
Malaysia’s Ice Kacang has more ingredients in it such as nuts, corn, cendol (green jelly) and red bean and mixes 2 kinds of syrup with coconut milk. On the other hand , Japanese Kakigoori is uses more a kind of syrup and simple ingredients.
Ice Kacang is rich while Kakigoori is mild and delegate.
Mount Fuji Kakigoori is the limited edition menu in Ootoya! Always my favorite choice !
One cost around 410 yen.
Ootoya’s food is always healthy , delicious and the price is reasonable.
I hope one day Ootoya will allocate a branch in Malaysia.
