When you are hungry, find vending machines!

※This article was published at May 2015.※

Japan is the Number 1 country when it comes to technology and yes, I really do think so too.
The first time I visited Japan, I could find a lot of vending machines just about anywhere I went.
Not only drinks but you can get cigarettes, bread, snacks…almost everything from the vending machine which are called 自動販売機 (じどうはんばいき).

When you see from the Vending Machine’s Kanji:
自動 (じどう) Jidou means automatic.
販売 (はんばい) Hanbai means selling
機 (き) Ki means machine.
So when you put it together..
自動販売機 (じどうはんばいき)
Jidouhanbaiki means that ‘Machine that sells things automatically’

This is a COOL vending machine that I saw when I was walking around the Hino Area west of Tokyo.
When I went to a コンビニ (Konbini) Convenience Store like 711, Lawson, Sunkus, and Family Mart, I saw this vending machine that sells real food that makes me full.
For example Yakisoba, Fried Potato, Hot dog, Chicken, and many other things that you can see there.

And I decided to buy the fried potato…^^
370 yen and you must wait for around 110 seconds until the food is ready to be served.

See there is even the salt provided inside the box.
Let me tell you, you don’t have to go to a restaurant when you are hungry.
You can find these vending machines located almost everywhere.

So just take your money out, put it in, press the food you want, wait for a few seconds, and TADA いただきます!
Itadakimasu! Let’s eat :)

Try it out when you are here next time.
