With a menu featuring Western-style dishes like hamburg steak and omurice, as well as seasonal desserts, these restaurants are beloved by all generations and are an essential part of daily life in Japan.

*Cocoa (including the set coaster and sticker) is a separate menu item.

The scene where Hachiware is captured by the soy-sauce-pouring target is recreated with omurice. Just as Rakko advised, use the sasumata-style fork to attack the "border between the teeth and gums" and subjugate the enemy.

During this interview, I had the chance to try this menu item. The combination of Japanese-style demi-glace sauce and dry curry omurice is a perfect match and very filling! The set also comes with salad, carrot râpée, and potato salad, making it a highly satisfying meal. Should you eat the target first to defeat it, or eat Hachiware first to rescue him...? I couldn't decide.

This dessert plate is inspired by Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi caught in a trap in the Marron Glacé Forest. The plate is full of chestnut-themed treats, such as cotton candy trees, candied chestnuts, and Mont Blanc tart. The "purple mushroom" that appeared in the story is also represented.

Chiikawa made a special appearance for our interview

Chiikawa Restaurant is extremely popular and operates on a complete advance reservation system. Since you can’t just walk in on a whim, it’s recommended to carefully check the reservation process and ticket types in advance.

Advance Reservations via Website Are Required for Chiikawa Restaurant

To visit, you must purchase an official reservation ticket called an “Entry Ticket with Meal Voucher (electronic ticket)” through the official reservation website. Reservations are accepted in the following two stages:

  1. Lottery Advance Sale (Pre-request)
Accepted about 2 months to 1 month before your desired visit date
  2. General Sale (First-come, first-served)
Available for purchase until 2 days before each date after sales begin

The reservation site is available in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. If your desired date is well in advance, first apply for the lottery, and if you don’t win, try again during the general sale. (A phone number starting with 090/080/070 is required.)

If there are any remaining seats after advance reservations, same-day seats may become available without a reservation. If you want to go “today,” be sure to check the reservation site for availability first.

There Are Two Types of Entry Tickets. The Popular Sofa Seats Are Highly Competitive!

There are two types of entry tickets you can choose from when making a reservation:

  • Reservation Ticket with Meal Voucher: 1,000 yen
  • Reservation Ticket with Meal Voucher for BOX Sofa Seat: 6,000 yen

Both include the cost of food and drink. For 1–2 people or if you’re fine with a table seat, the 1,000 yen ticket is sufficient. You can add more dishes as you like after being seated.

If you want to enjoy the spacious BOX sofa seat, choose the 6,000 yen ticket. Each ticket allows up to 4 people, so it’s also suitable for groups of 2–3. However, sofa seats are limited and operate on a time-slot system. Especially on weekends, they can fill up quickly.
