“Edo Glass” Glasses are handmade drink glasses made using the traditional method of blowing glass spheres. The entire process from masking to polishing is done entirely by hand, one glass at a time. Even the polishing is also done with care, without the use of any chemicals. Only a few companies can produce Edo Glass in Tokyo, making each one extremely valuable.
Expressing the World of Romantic Fairy Tales
These glasses have been created with the theme of "returning to the world of story books you enjoyed as a child - again as an adult." The fairy tale designs imagined in these glasses include the world-famous Cinderella, The Mermaid Princess, Little Red Riding Hood, and the Japanese novel “Night on the Galactic Railroad” (by Kenji Miyazawa) and The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (an old Japanese folk tale). The Cinderella glass features silhouettes of Cinderella and the castle, shoes, the pumpkin carriage, and the chandelier at the ballroom. The Mermaid Princess design has a gradation of white and light blue colors to depict scenes underwater. The Night on the Galactic Railroad glass has a train and constellations which shine on the deep azure blue glass that imagines the blue sky. The drink glasses have a variety of colors and an arrangement of motifs, all different according to each story, so you will never get tired of gazing at these marvelous glasses!
