- White Rice:Approx. 150 g
- Pink Rice::Approx. 150 g
- 1-2 teaspoons of sushi vinegar
- pink fish floss
- 1 Egg
- 1 Teaspoon of Sugar
- Salt to Taste
- 5-6 Slices of Tuna (Sashimi)
- Salmon Roe
- 3 Slices of Japanese Basil
- Cucumber
- Hinamatsuri Traditional Sweets & Candy (optional)
Things to Prepare in Advance:
*Rolled Egg (Tamagoyaki)
- Mix all of the ingredients.
- Once the mixture is similar to that in a crêpe recipe, pour thinly into a pan.
- Cut into thin slices.
*Cucumber
- Cut both ends off, then vertically in half.
Recipe:
- Put the white rice into a bowl and mix in the sushi vinegar. Use a rice scoop to quickly mix the rice and then quickly cool it down afterward. After cooling, ensure it doesn't dry out using a wet cloth over the top.
- Put the pink rice into a separate bowl. Slowly put starch into the bowl and ensure to mix well.
- Place the tart-shaped moulds onto a plate and slowly press the white rice into the moulds. Place some Japanese basil on top of the rice. After this, place some of the tuna on top of that. Finally, place some pink rice on top of that.
- Press downwards whilst removing the tart-shaped mould.
- Sprinkle the thinly sliced egg over the top. Then sprinkle some salmon roe as well. Finally, sprinkle some of the cucumber you cut earlier over the top.
- If you have some traditional Japanese sweets during Hinamatsuri, decorate them as you see fit.
