Hi, Navio here.

So my friends and I went to this cool expo called the Contents of Tokyo 2015.
Actually, not all people can get into expo easily, you will need a special invitation. And if you are a working person (inside a company), they will ask you to trade in two business name cards.
In exchange, you will get a name tag ID.

Your ID might look different from the other people, because they will divide you based on your profession.
出版・印刷 (shuppan / insatsu = publishing / printing)
クリエイター (kurietaa = creator)
漫画・映像・アニメ (manga / eizou / anime = comic / video / anime)
小説 (shousetsu = novel)
広告 (koukoku = advertising)
WEB・ITメディア (web / IT media)
法人・専門家 (houjin / senmonka = other professional)
and so many others.

We got the invitation from our sensei, and since we are students, we can get the ID by just showing our student ID card.

The event was held at the Tokyo Big Sight located in Koutou-ku

There were 6 main events being held at that time:
1. クリエイターEXPO (Creators’ EXPO)
2. キャラクター&ブランドライセンス展 (Licensing Japan)
3. コンテンツ マーケティング EXPO (Content Marketing EXPO)
4. プロダクション EXPO (Production Companies EXPO)
5. 制作・配信ソリューション展 (Content Solution EXPO)
6. 先端コンテンツ技術展 (Advanced Content Technology EXPO)

We went to (1), (2), and (4).
They were held in a big hall and the creators had their own booths where they can ‘sell’ themselves and their services.

Here’s a photo of me with an artist that I adore, Mr. Shichigoro Shingo.
Check his awesome stuff here : http://shichigoro.com/

From my analysis, there are 4 main important roles in this EXPO :
1. Companies, who are exhibiting their works (Studio, Software Developers, etc.) so that
2. Bigger companies, (they visit the EXPO as a visitors / exhibiting their works) looking for smaller companies, and
3. Creators (Exhibitor) to cooperate and work together with.
4. Last but not least, Normal Visitors (including creators who aren’t exhibiting, looking for ideas, and normal visitors)

What’s so awesome about this EXPO?
1. You will learn a lot of new things, (under development technologies, softwares, etc.)
2. You will meet new people that may increase your connections (creator, companies)
3. You will find cool, cute, fantastic stuff there, and most of them are being distributed to the visitors for free.

I got this yellow fan from this yellow chick character, and after I took a photo with it, the staff handed me small badges while saying “thank you for taking pictures with the character”

Thinking of visiting the EXPO? Or maybe you want to try your luck and open a booth?
