割引).

In Japanese, discount is called Japanese and Waribiki (割引)

From its kanji, Wari () means “divided”, or the ratio/proportion between things. Biki () means “to pull”, together they mean price cuts. On the other words, Waribiki (割引) to reduce certain proportion/percentage from the price.

Ways to show discounts vary among countries. In case of Japan, there are (xx% OFF), (xx Yen discount), (half-price) and more.
