Do you like tasting Shabu Shabu buffer style?
Shabu Shabu is especially well known in terms of Japanese cuisine. It consists of raw assorted vegetables, tofu, paper-thin slices of raw pork (beef) cooked in hot pot. Having Shabu Shabu is happiness time for everyone, friends or family, who sits around the hot pot and cooks together and talks together.
In Chiang Rai, the most popular Shabu Shabu buffet that well has known both Japanese and Thai tourists is Tomato Japanese Restaurants. The restaurants have 2 branches, the first branch is located in town (before the main bridge on route 1 on the right hand side if heading out of town, take the under pass of bridge double back towards town then look for yellow lanterns out the front, next to car dealership) and another one is located near Chiang Rai International Airport. The owner is Japanese people. And I decided to go the restaurant in town.

The restaurant opens every day during 11.00 a.m.-11.00 p.m. Within the restaurant was decorated as Japanese atmosphere which as Japanese contemporary style and bamboo blind. It’s so great and nice place.

The menu offers a selection of Japanese dishes more 50 dishes. The popular menus are Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki buffet, traditional style of Sushi, Sashimi, Snow crab, Fish Named Hokke and an A’ La Carte for lunch and dinner. The most Japanese customers come for have lunch, and most Thai customers come and order Shabu Shabu buffet for the dinner, the staff told. The staffs are friendly, full of service mind and the offer of more food just keeps coming.
