Ito-shi is in Izu peninsula. It has a hot spring called “Ito onsen”, which is the largest in Japan in terms of the amount of hot spring water. Ito-shi is located in the middle of the east coast of Izu Peninsula, it is a city with numerous magnificent sightseeing spots very close to nature such as the impressive cliffs of “Jogasaki Coast”, and “Mt. “Mt. Omuro”, the National Natural Monument

Mt. Omuro is like the symbol of Ito-shi, and it is a national natural monument. The views of the soft and splendid landscape from the peak is definitely something you cannot miss.

Lake Ippeki- Indulgence in Beautiful Views in Any Seasons

Lake Ippeki is a volcanic formed by the eruption of Mt. Omuro. There are lakeside walking trails for visitors to go close to nature and enjoy its splendid views during your relaxing walk.

Ito onsen is a traditional and the largest hot spring in Shizuoka in terms of the amount of hot spring water, it has been famous for medical therapy since the Edo period, particularly good for seniors and small children. There are as many as 150 accommodating facilities in Ito onsen including resort hotels, guest houses, pensions…for family, large groups, and all kinds of visitors. This wide range of accommodation choices is one of the attractions of the hot spring resort. Besides, there are also easier, casual spots like day-trip public bath, ashiyu foot massage hot spring, etc.

To get to Ito-shi from Tokyo, take shinkansen at “Tokyo station” and get off at “Atami station” (approx. 55 mins). Change to JR line and get off at “Ito station” (approx. 22 mins).
