Welcome to FUN! JAPAN!
“FUN! JAPAN” collectively means a project (“FUN! JAPAN Project”) that offers products and services through various means, including this website (including, but not limited to the web domain fun-japan.jp/jp – referred to as “Site” – which may later be revised or changed for any reason), and strives to expand interest in Japan by introducing Japanese products and services to consumers across Asia.
The governing body of FUN! JAPAN, the FUN! JAPAN Team, offers services and information to its customers according to the following Terms of Use (“Terms of Use”). "FUN! JAPAN" hereby refers to the FUN! JAPAN Project, this Site, the individual members or company that makes up the FUN! JAPAN Team, individually or collectively, as implied by the context.
Please read the following Terms of Use carefully. By using or accessing FUN! JAPAN, you, as the customer, are deemed to agree to the Terms of Use below. Should you access or purchase a product or service from our partners through FUN! JAPAN presently or in the future, you are also deemed to agree to the terms and guidelines of that partner at that time regardless of whether they are included in our Site. If the terms and guidelines for the product and service of our partner and these Terms of Use conflict, these Terms of Use take precedence.

Privacy policies are applied when you use FUN! JAPAN.

Electronic communication
When you use FUN! JAPAN or send email to FUN! JAPAN, you are engaging in electronic communication with FUN! JAPAN.
You are prospectively agreeing to receive communications from FUN! JAPAN as a part of a notification regarding its operation, publication or function by sending you an email to your registered address, placing a notice on the Site, or using other appropriate means via the Site. You are deemed to agree that electronic communications from FUN! JAPAN, including all agreements, notices, and information disclosure, satisfy the legal requirements for communications in writing.
Copyrights
All contents provided via FUN! JAPAN (e.g., characters, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, movies, digitally downloaded materials, and edited data) are the property of either FUN! JAPAN or content provider and are protected by Japan’s copyright law and international laws concerning copyrights. All compilations of contents provided via FUN! JAPAN are the exclusive property of FUN! JAPAN and are protected by Japan's copyright law and international laws concerning copyrights. You may not reprint or reproduce information, images, etc., that are provided via FUN! JAPAN without our permission.
License and access to the site
FUN! JAPAN or any content provider for it grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-commercial, and personal license to use FUN! JAPAN on the condition that you comply with these Terms of Use (no assignment or sublicense is permitted). This license does not cover any of the following: resale or commercial use of FUN! JAPAN or its content; collection or use of product lists, descriptions, or prices; secondary use of FUN! JAPAN or its content; download or copy of account information for other companies; or use of data collection or extraction tools such as data mining or robot.
FUN! JAPAN or its licensors, suppliers, publishers, right holders, or other content holders reserve all rights that are not explicitly granted by these Terms of Use or other terms. You may not duplicate, photocopy, copy, sell, resell, access, or otherwise use FUN! JAPAN or any part thereof for commercial use without an explicit written consent from FUN! JAPAN. You may not frame or use frame technology to incorporate any logo or any other information of value owned by FUN! JAPAN (including images, characters, page layout, and forms) without an explicit written consent. You are prohibited from misusing FUN! JAPAN, and may only use FUN! JAPAN according to applicable laws. This license granted by FUN! JAPAN will be cancelled or terminated at the discretion of FUN! JAPAN without notice, if you use FUN! JAPAN in violation of these Terms of Use or any other applicable conditions.
Account
When using this Site, you understand and agree to be held responsible for your account, in safeguarding your password and supervising the use and access to your account. If someone accesses your account or uses your account to access the Site, we will rely on that account ID and will assume that access has been made by you, and you will be held responsible for any conduct made through your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect or become aware that your account has been used without your authorization. We at FUN! JAPAN reserve the right to remove any and/or all of your submissions, suspend, and/or terminate your account with or without prior notice. Regardless of whether intentional or negligent infringement, costs, losses and damages arising in connection with termination as a result of password theft, loss, or unauthorized use (such as, but not limited to: investigation costs, preventive measures costs, attorney fees, claim correspondence costs) shall not be charged to FUN! JAPAN. We reserve the right to revise or delete contents, stop or change promotions or campaigns, deny service, suspend accounts without notice.
FUN! JAPAN Point
FUN! JAPAN Point (“FP”) can only be used for the specific uses designated by FUN! JAPAN, such as to apply for campaigns on the Site and to access articles that are exclusive for members of the Site.
FP can be earned by: registering as a member of the Site; logging into the Site; entering a fortune lottery; answering questionnaires; registering as favorite the webpages for which FP is provided; sharing such webpages; commenting on such webpages; participating in campaigns; and other methods designated by FUN! JAPAN.
FP is not available for purchase. Unless otherwise designated, FP is valid for one year from the account holder’s last login date. When an account is terminated, FP earned through such terminated account will become invalid. All FP will become invalid if the Site is closed or if FUN! JAPAN Project is terminated. FP cannot be transferred to other point programs. FP cannot be exchanged for cash or other kinds of points under any circumstances. FP is granted to specific accounts and can only be used for the specific account and cannot be transferred to other accounts.
Changes in Registration
If there is a change in the registration, including the email address, you are responsible for notifying us of such changes. If a customer fails to provide or update registration matters and is therefore unable to receive services or experience losses, FUN! JAPAN will not be held responsible for such losses.
For Minors
Please register upon obtaining consent from a legal guardian such as your parents. FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to terminate or deny service immediately if such consent has appeared to be unattained.
Reviews, comments, communication, and other contents
As a user of FUN! JAPAN, you may submit comments, photographs, or other contents, or transmit proposals, ideas, comments, questions, or other information, so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, injurious to third parties, or objectionable, or does not consist of or include software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings or any form of spam. You may not use a false email address, impersonate any person or entity, or act in any way so as to mislead others on the origin of any content. Although FUN! JAPAN reserves the right (but not the obligation) to delete or edit such contents, it does not periodically confirm submitted contents.
Unless the site explicitly states otherwise, when you submit a content or transmit a material, you grant FUN! JAPAN a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content globally in any media. You are granting FUN! JAPAN and its sublicensees the right to use the name(s) you have transmitted in connection with such content, if they choose. You will not exercise your moral right of an author against FUN! JAPAN or any of its sublicensees. You represent and warrant to FUN! JAPAN that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content you post; that the content is accurate; that the use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any third person or entity; and that you will compensate FUN! JAPAN for all claims arising from the content you supply. FUN! JAPAN does not guarantee that it will accurately record or save any information or materials submitted or posted by you, and FUN! JAPAN assumes no liability or responsibility for lost, alteration or leaking of such information or materials. FUN! JAPAN reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or delete any act or content. FUN! JAPAN takes no responsibility or assumes no liability for any content posted by you or any third party.
Notification of infringement of intellectual property rights
FUN! JAPAN respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been photocopied or used at the Site by a method that constitutes infringement of copyrights or intellectual property rights, notify us according to the notification procedure for infringement of intellectual property rights designated by FUN! JAPAN.
Product descriptions
FUN! JAPAN strives to maintain accuracy as much as possible. FUN! JAPAN does not, however, guarantee that the product descriptions or other contents on its site are accurate, complete, reliable, up-to-date, or free of errors. Note that this provision applies only to products introduced by FUN! JAPAN.

Disclaimer
Unless otherwise specified in writing, FUN! JAPAN and all information, contents, materials, products (incorporating software), and other services that you can use on its site are provided by FUN! JAPAN on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Unless otherwise specified in writing, FUN! JAPAN does not make any type of representation or warranty, either expressed or implied, concerning the operation of FUN! JAPAN, its site, or information, content, material, or product posted on FUN! JAPAN. You are deemed to explicitly consent to use this site and FUN! JAPAN at your own risk. In particular, you explicitly agree to waive FUN! JAPAN of responsibility pertaining to any losses resulting from claims, disputes, or damages occurred as a result of server suspension or loss of stored data.
FUN! JAPAN is not intended to be a platform that makes recommendations on the purchases, sale, or holding of products or services that are available to customers on its Site. Because the information in advertisements may change, we ask our customers to make product purchase decisions based on your own judgment, without solely relying on the information as posted by FUN! JAPAN. FUN! JAPAN does not assume responsibility, will not act as a consultant, and will not become a party to any contract negotiations between the customer, regardless of whether the interaction takes place via the Site.
FUN! JAPAN will not intervene in any discussions or interactions between customers, even if such engagement is a result of utilizing FUN! JAPAN and/or the Site. Any tasks, troubleshooting, legal obligations or communications that result from engagements between customers are the sole responsibilities of such customers. FUN! JAPAN does not assume responsibility for any damages caused by or arising from information published from engagements resulting from using our Site and/or FUN! JAPAN.
FUN! JAPAN will not offer any warranty (including but not limited to, that it has merchantability or fitness of purpose), to the extent possible permitted under the applicable law, for products or services that can be obtained, whether implicit or explicit. FUN! JAPAN does not guarantee that the information, contents, materials, products (including software), services, server or email communications are not infected with harmful elements or viruses. FUN! JAPAN does not assume responsibility including, but not limited to, direct and indirect, punitive, or consequential damages of any kind resulting in the use and access of FUN! JAPAN.
Governing law
By using FUN! JAPAN, you are agreeing to submit to the laws of Japan, without regard to conflicts of laws principles, for any type of dispute that may arise in connection with these terms of service and between you and FUN! JAPAN or its related companies.
Disputes
In addition to the court of general jurisdiction permitted under the applicable law, Tokyo District Court shall be designated as the additional agreement jurisdictional court for all disputes associated with access to FUN! JAPAN. For business customers, however, Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive agreement jurisdictional court.
Site operational policies, revision, separability
Carefully read the operational policies of the site, including those on prices posted on the site. These policies also restrict your use of FUN! JAPAN. FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to revise this site, policies, or terms of service at any time. If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that provision will be deemed severable from these terms and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
Governing Body
This Site is managed and operated by a team of volunteers forming FUN! JAPAN. With regard to the rights, privileges and disclaimers provided to FUN! JAPAN under these Terms of Use, any of the volunteers forming FUN! JAPAN or companies supporting FUN! JAPAN or officers or employees of such companies may exercise or insist such rights, privileges and disclaimers.
Personal Information Protection Policies
All Customers
Please read the following policies prior to providing personal information to FUN! JAPAN (“FUN! JAPAN” or “we” or “us”). By using this website, you are deemed to agree to the terms in this statement and agree to receive our services that utilize your personal information.
1. Purpose of uses of personal information
The FUN! JAPAN service will use your personal information for the following purposes (hereinafter referred to as “Purposes of Use”):
(1) Use as a member of the service
• Authentication upon and after logging in and automatic display of membership information on each page when you use the service as a registered member of the service
(2) Transactions provided by the FUN! JAPAN service
• Operations necessary for your entry for a prize, etc., support for your inquiry, inquiry from us to you, related follow-up services, and other transactions
(3) Advertising, promotion, and marketing for the service
• Provision of information such as email magazines for customers
• Provision of information on services via email, mail, or telephone
• Personalization of the contents and advertisement you view based on such personal attributes as your gender, age, place of residence, hobbies, and preferences, as well as purchase history and viewing history of the FUN! JAPAN service's web site
• Development of new services and enhancement of existing services based on analysis of your use of the FUN! JAPAN service
• Communication with you concerning services via questionnaires, campaigns, comments, etc.
(4) Support for your inquiry
• Support for your inquiry concerning the FUN! JAPAN service via email, mail, etc.
(5) Other purposes associated with FUN! JAPAN service
• Uses that are deemed necessary to provide the FUN! JAPAN service in association with (1) through (4) above
(6) Provision to service providers
• Provision of personal information to service providers according to “3. Provision and consignment of personal information”
(7) Miscellaneous
• Personal information may be used for a purpose not stipulated above for individual services. In this case, a notification will be placed on the web site of the individual service.
2. Acquisition of personal information
In providing services, we collect the following information pertaining to our customers. Please understand that while certain information may be optional, we may not be able to offer our services or respond to inquiries based on the lack of such optional information. These are examples of personal information, and might not constitute personal information, depending on the specific content of the information.
(1) Information provided by you
• All information you provide, including your name, gender, date of birth, place of residence, language, religion, email address, mobile phone email address, your current location, and answers to questionnaires
(2) Information obtained in connection with use of our services
• Any information that can be used to identify you when you apply for a prize or any other transaction organized by FUN! JAPAN and transaction record information associated therewith
• Information on the comment or description provided when you address a question, complete a questionnaire, participate in a campaign, enter a comment, rate a service, etc., to or with the FUN! JAPAN service or a service provider by email or by other means
(3) Information that is mechanically obtained when you access this website
• Information such as the IP address and mobile terminal model identification when your computer accesses the Internet including your location of access
• Information that is obtained when you access this website, such as the type and version of your browser, operating system, and platform, as well as the pages (URLs) you visited, the time and date of your visits, and the products you viewed or searched for
• In addition to the above, information that is automatically collected and stored every time you use our Group’s services, such as access information obtained by using cookie or web beacon technology
• For the avoidance of doubt, the above information provided will be duly managed and maintained in accordance with “4 Protection of personal information” below after it is transmitted to outside of Malaysia.
3. Provision and entrustment of personal information
At FUN! JAPAN, we handle personal information in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, and will not disclose to or share your personal information with third parties without your consent unless required or permitted by law. However, your personal information may be provided to or handled by a third party to the extent to achieve the purpose of use of personal information. In this case, we stipulate in the agreement with such third party that the personal information will be handled and managed in the same manner as under this policy and the identification of such third party and the management by such third parties is verified as appropriate.
(1) Personal data that are provided or entrusted are the same as those specified under “1. Purpose of uses of personal information”
(2) Personal data that is provided are the same as “2. Acquisition of personal information”
(3) The scope of joint users is limited to the service providers who require the information for their duties to be carried out.
(4) The means and method of providing and sharing information are by analog medium, whether by electronic transfer, by paper, CD-ROM, or a medium managed by this Service
(5) If you request providing and/or sharing of information to be terminated, please refer to and proceed with “5. Notification, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion of the purpose of use of personal information, as well as, suspension of use, elimination, stopping of provision to third parties of personal information”
4. Protection of personal information
We are taking appropriate and reasonable measures from technical and management view points to protect, properly manage, and prevent the disclosure, loss, or damage of personal information. We promise to manage and protect in the collection, use and provision of information strictly within the bounds of legitimate service by adhering to the direction and privacy policies of the management company, Nippon Express Co., Ltd.
5. Notification, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion of the purpose of use of personal information, as well as, suspension of use, elimination, stopping of provision to third parties of personal information
•You may notify us of your purpose of use, and request for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion or termination, suspension of provision to any third party, of your personal data through “Contact Us.” If you have forgotten your user ID or password, please refer to the FAQ page.
•As to the procedure of deletion or termination, you may proceed by yourself on the page of “FAQ” or we will respond to your request to “Contact us” by suspending the use of the service or the provision of the personal data to service providers.
•If you request us to stop your use of service or to stop providing your personal data to service providers, you may be restricted from using parts or all of the services. In addition, if you have not logged in for a long time, your personal data may be automatically deleted or terminated.
•FUN! JAPAN may keep backup data in case of data loss due to computer failure, human error, or other force majeure reasons. You cannot take any procedures to confirm the backup data, due to their nature.
•By using the service, you are agreeing to the provisions under “5. Notification, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion of the purpose of use of personal information, as well as, termination in use, elimination, stopping of provision to third parties of personal information”
6. Personal information of minors
Our Service protects information of minors with the same governance of adults. However, users under the age of 15 years old may require the consent of a legal guardian.

8. Security of this website
•The FUN! JAPAN service may ask for your cooperation to ensure that your personal data are accurate and up to date.
