日光の紅葉が見頃を迎える頃、各所でライトアップイベントが開催される。日光山輪王寺（にっこうさんりんのうじ）の「逍遥園（しょうようえん）」では、ライトアップされた日本庭園と紅葉の美しい光景を観ることができる。逍遥園は江戸時代に作られた代表的な日本庭園で、池を中心に周囲を歩きながら楽しめる池和泉回遊式の庭園。ライトアップ期間中は16時から20時まで開門している。ライトアップの拝観料は大人500円、中学生以下無料。また、「竜頭の滝（りゅうずのたき）」では、不定期でライトアップを行なっている。迫力ある滝とモミジやシナノキなどに彩られた紅葉の美しい景観が楽しめる。滝と紅葉のコラボレーションが美しくライトアップされる。竜頭の滝の紅葉の見頃は9月下旬から10月上旬頃まで。
