Hi, Navio here.
What do you think of the photo above?
Pretty cool, right?
Who is the photographer?
It’s me.
I am going to share my experience, watching the killer fish show!
The show is from the famous Kamogawa Seaworld, an aquarium which is located in the Kamogawa-shi, Chiba Pref.
Before you enter the main entrance, you can see a pair of the killer fishes’ statue, standing tall, pointing at the blue sky.
Anyone know how to call this majestic water creature in Japanese?
The black-white monster is none other than the killer whale / orca.
In Japanese we call it “shachi”
There is a show several times during the day which you can enjoy performances by humans (the trainers) and the beasts (the orcas).
Working together as teams, swimming here and there.
Jumping out from water and of course..
THE SPLASHING!
Here’s some simple advice.
As you can see that the benches are painted in different colours: Blue and orange.
Orange is the “danger” zone.
If you love getting wet, these seats are made especially for you!
Blue benches are the “safe” zones. By “safe”, I couldn’t say 100% safe.
More like, 50-50% safe and unsafe.
Anyway, just avoid the front rows, and you should be fine.
On that day, my friends and I sat in a group, somewhere around the 4th or 5th row, (blue benches of course).
Two friends who sat next to me, right next to me, got splashed by the gentle giant.
My heart pounded so fast, while covering the camera.
Such a close call.
Or maybe you can use this little kid’s idea, protecting your shoes from getting wet by covering them with plastic sheets.
I think you need something bigger though, just in case the orca splash your face.
