Shiretoko is the beautiful area is located in north-east of Hokkaido the northernmost island of Japan.
Shiretoko peninsula is covered with untouched forests.
It is world heritage area and it’s so popular for hiking.

If you can get rental car in Memanbetsu airport (You can get there via Haneda airport or Sapporo airport),  You  would enjoy going around north-east Hokkaido easily.
I supposed that you had better get rental car for sightseeing in Hokkaido except of Sapporo city.
It would be hard to connect some public transport services  In local area.

What’s a beautiful  isn’t it??
The beautiful mountains is reflected on the tranquil lakes' surfaces

This area is home to variety of wildlife, such as brown bears, deer and foxes.
You would encounter many animals along a path.
But be careful, especially spring to summer is the period when bears are active.
They have a lot of food before they hibernate in caves.
So they must be hungry at this time every year.

Anyway  If you are lucky guys, you can take photos like that.
You can approach them but don’t feed them.

The scenery of Shiretoko would change depending on each season.
If you go Shiretoko peninsula in winter season, You can see huge Ryuuhyou  (Drift Ice gradually fills the Sea of Okhotsk).
I recommend that you go there in Summer and winter two times in a year.

Additionally,  There is no rainy season and no humid climate in Hokkaido.
That’s why Japanese want to get there between June and August.
Never ever let you down!!  Off we go!!
