Not only went to popular tourism spot, we also went to factory tour at this Visit Japan.
We had to choose the kind of factory that we wanted to visit. As industrious country, there are many kinds of factory that you can visit in Japan. For this year Visit Japan, we decided to visit beer factory. Not only technology, here we can also see beer as important part of Japanese culture. After all, who doesn’t know the famous saying of cheers in the opening of dinner/party in Japan… Kanpai!! Hehe…
Jojo, Winy, Dear and Mama went on Suntory Beer Factory Tour at Musashino-Tokyo.
If you don’t know about Suntory, it’s one of biggest Japanese liquor company. The factory in Musashino-Tokyo was the first ever beer factory built by Suntory!

Next up, we entered the building for factory tour visitors. The hall is really beautiful! There is also interesting beer cans display!
We moved on to the tour. First we got short presentation on the process of beer manufacturing.
The process of beer manufacturing is very long. It begins with collecting the raw materials and ends with packaging.
There are two main materials that we can see at Suntory factory tour: wheat and hop.
The upper photo is wheat, the main ingredient of the beer. While the lower photo is hop, the ingredient that gives aroma for the beer. Both them are ingredients with top quality produced in Czech!

After that, we went to mashing chamber! In here, all raw materials are mixed together.

In the end of tour, the fun part began. We got chance to taste the beer produced by Suntory. In this particular tour, we could taste two kinds of beer: the Premium Malts and the Premium Malts Master’s Dream. Suntory is popular with its bitter yet rich beer taste. It’s OK if you can’t drink the beer as the tour also provides soft drink for the participants.
Not only tasting the beer, we can also buy interesting souvenir. Upper photo is beer smoother. And the lower photo is water bottle with Suntory beer can look.
